Too many Legendaries?

personally think that there are too many Legendaries in Pokemon. Let's go down the list of legendary Pokemon and their roles:

1) Moltres (bird of fire)
2) Articuno (bird of ice)
3) Zapdos (bird of lightning)
4) Mewtwo (psychic alien/mutant)
5) Mew
6) Suicune (wolf of north wind)
7) Entei (lion of fire)
8) Raikou (tiger of lightning)
9) Celebi (forest spirit)
10) Lugia (guardian of ocean currents)
11) Ho-oh (phoenix)
12) Regirock (tomb guardian)
13) Registeel (tomb guardian)
14) Regice (tomb guardian)
15) Latias
16) Latios
17) Kyogre (builder of sea)
18) Groudon (builder of land)
19) Rayquaza (dragon of the sky)
20) Jirachi (the miracle Pokemon)
21) Deoxys (alien/mutant)

Honestly, I feel that 21 is already more than enough. So, is there anybody who agrees that enough is enough, or do people want even more Legendaries?

You're missing Manaphy and Lucario, but then again, they aren't proven legendaries (at least I don't think so), so yeah. But there are way too many, IMO. There should only be about three times more legendaries than pseudo-legendaries (Dragonite, Tyranitar, Salamence, Metagross), so looking about 12-13 Legendaries. Too many.

only a few in my opinion should be legendaries(officially) some arn't even ubers. like the regis to me are just rare fun pokemon to catch and theyre nice to trade to other peoplt so they can complete there dex(i have like 4 of each regi)

but heres my list on what should be legendary(officially)
1. mewtwo
2. mew
3. celebi
4. lugia
5. ho-oh
6. deoxys
7. jirachi
because the majority of these you can only get form events, or other special means. except mewtwo. but then again it's in there mostly for nostalgias sake and the fact that he was the first "uber"/official legendary

Ok, one thing I want to mention is that Lugia is the Guardian of Balance, and I can argue that rather extensively. It's associated with water because the Earth's oceans are the reason why the temperatures don't fluctuate from day to night by 300 degrees. In the movie, Lugia tried to restore the balance between the elements, which is one of the major functions of water. And finally, there is already a water Legendary, Kyogre.

And no, there aren't too many.

I'm not a big fan of legendarys, though they are quite fun catching for your collection. I don't care if they make 20 more legendarys.

I think that if more legendaries come the better it will be, because people feel good when they have legendaries(most of the time) but, I agree there are way too many legendaries.

My only complaint is that in Colosseum and possibly XD, in the Battle modes (or Orre battle mode in XD once you beat the game) have way to many legendaries, Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, Jirachi, and Deoxys if it's in the XD Battle mode, shouldn't be used by opponents unless it was the final battle! (Mewstor & Celestor used by Cooltrainer male in Prime cup from Stadium 1 & 2 anyone?)

I think that there are getting to be too many legendaries. I don't think there should stop being new ones though, but maybe the designers could tone down on them. Like just one legendary and one little legendary or something. I think there should be less. There were like five in RB and 6 in GS. There was an overdose of legends in RS.

I always thought they only needed two partner Legendaries, and maybe one mini one. Like Mew and Mewtwo, Lugia and Ho-Oh and Celebi, Groudon and Kyogre and Jirachi...

... but then i guess doing that woyld screw up the plot some >>;

yes i've made this post before, the balance of legendaries was really broken by R/S though
1st gen: 3 elemental birds, "super" legendary mewtwo and uncatchable Mew
2nd gen: 3 elemental beasts, 2 "super legendary" ho oh lugia, and uncatchable celebi
3rd gen: 3 elemental golems, 3" super" legendaries groudon rayquazza kyogre, 2 uncatchable and 2 more legendaries...

Out of the 21 legendaries, almost half of them (10 of 21) come from R/S....first they had 3 of the main legendaries adding one more than the previous generation(who had added one more from the first), then we get two new legendaries (lati@s), and they decided even with little to no backstory to have the traditional "elemental trio", plus the uncatchable...but they weren't happy and added a second uncatchable..

however, out of all the Pokemon the legendaries are still only 5.45%, so at least its not something like 10% out of all of them, so its ok. I mean now that they made them I wouldn't replace any of the legendaries of Hoenn, however I do wish they go a little easier on them this new gen.

I agree there are too many legendaries. All the little kids using them thinking they will win (not all the time) annoys me so much. Thats why I don't use legendaires.

You do have to consider the fact that they are split between 3 regions. Back in Kanto we only had 5 because, well, there was only one region. Hoenn does have a lot of legendaries though, but it's not like you can get 20 in one game. Also, some are only available in events.

I feel like every gen needs to have a set of legendaries but not to many. The legendary trio and one or two stronger ones and maybe just one 'little' legendary was okay but in the 3rd gen there were to many I agree.

1.Only a few are in each game and they`re all not in 1 game.
2. 21 Legendary?! I make my own for made up lands and 1 of them had over 100 legendary!!!!

There is no such thing as a legend in our world, or at least the way legendary pokemon are. If you're talking about myths, legendary pokemon exist. There is no one of a kind hidden creature in this world that we know of.
