Too many old evolutions?

Yeah, so we know the fouth generation has loads of new evolutions. Jibacoil, Weavile, Dosidon, Eteboth, Elekible, Booburn...to name but six. Me, I love evolutions to bits. But are there too many evolutions this time around? Or did we just get used to the fact that there weren't any in the third generation (bar prevolutions Wynaut and Azurill)?

What do you think?

I, for one, am not fussed about new evolutions (especially Jibacoil, which pwns along with the rest of the Magnemite line).

And hey, going around this forum many months ago quite a few of these Pokemon were listed as ones that 'needed evolutions' so the evolutions should be welcomed rather than shunned. Although admittedly, I'm a bit confused over the choice of Pokemon that evolved - Rhydon gets one but Spinda doesn't? Piloswine has a new stage whilst Luvdisc is stuck basic? Eevee gets two more additions to its family yet Quilfish will always remain deflated?

yeah...same here...
why did they give evos to pokes that are strong enough and didnt make ones for qwilfish and co.? <.< i think they'll balance evos in the 5th gen *hopes for qwilfish evo*

I love the new evolutions, there can never be too many evolutions because they make Pokemon that weren't used much before stronger and more usable. The new pre-evolutions are a different story as they bring nothing to the game except maybe one new move for their evolutions and are completely pointless. The worst pre-evo is definitely Chimechos as it is already weak and really needs an evo and not a pre-evo.

Maybe there were a lot, but a lot of Pokemon did (and many still do) need evolving.

Though I am disappointed in some, namely Dosiadon, I generally like them and Jibacoil as several may know is one of my favourite Pokemon ever.

At least there were less pre-evos this time round.

It is cute though.

The only ones I don't like are Beruberuto and Mojanbo. I'm not the biggest fan of Dainoosu or Yonowaaru, either, and Glion and Manmuu are only okay. I like the rest.

I think Dosaidon's good, mainly because it has 140 base attack, and all of its attack moves are physical. It's definitely going to be on my team when D/P comes out over here.

I do think they should have gave some basic Pokemon some evolutions this time around. Qwilfish, Mawile, and Luvdisc are just a few that need evolutions bad, but I am not complaining about the new evolutions given to us, I love each and every one of them.

You know, some of you think that we have many evolutions of old pokemon but look at this problem from another way. Some pokemon like Tangela, Magmar or Yanma weren't used by gamers at all. Now they got a chance because they evolved into something new and they are stronger. Of course, some pokemon still are without evolution (Luvdisc, Mawile etc.) but not all pokemon can have evolution. Its even nice when some pokemon don't evolve and they have only one form.

No, I don't think so.... think about it. The first gen had all new pokemon duh, the second gen gave a split amount of evo's,pre evos and new pokemon, the 3rd gen gave all new pokemon, and the 4th has mostly evos and pre evos. It fits

I like dosidon and weavile.
Dosidon has a rock elemental hyper beam.

Personally, I like what they've done. Not that it adds a whle new level to gameplay or anything it's because it allows for something different after the Elite 4/National Dex. You have a few of your oldies from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd gena dn plenty of new ones. Most of the new evolutions cannot be obtained until you get the Natioal Dex, so you can try out sometihng else after the Elite 4.

Im glad they gave evolutions to alot of the underused pokemon to make them better. but for some reason they gave chimecho a baby instead of a evolution...

Actually, this generation had the most pre-evos with a total of eight.

Personally, I'm fine with all the evolutions. If other people don't like them, there's nothing forcing them to evolve their Pokemon. I'd rather have more Pokemon that are evolutions, than no new Pokemon at all.

I didn´t liked that there were so many evolutions, even more than most were ugly IMO. But there are some that I liked, like Rozureido or Elekible
