Well, Kanadian_Kyuubi didn't seem to make one for the third week, so I might as well.

Anyway, this is one of my personal favorites from Studio Ghibli.

A girl with a mysterious crystal floats down from the sky into the arms of Pazu. Together they encounter the military, lead by a devious man who wants the crystal that will lead him to Laputa and its power.

I've always enjoyed Miyazaki's science fiction works. Though, this movie slapped of Forbiddon Planet from time to time but it doesn't detract from this movie.

I loved thi smovie. I missed the start, up to where the girl was being helped by the Robot. But I pieced it together pretty quickly. Miyazaki isnt disapointing me, all his movies are realy good.
Anyone else notacing the "Anit-Hate" theam in the movies?

I personally loved this movie. All of the music that I heard just captured me. The storyline was beautiful as well. The relationship between Chia and Pazu was so sweet. I also liked how Laputa was covered with beautiful plants and creatures. When they got rid of the rest of the city, the tree was wonderful. I would have liked to see them get to their home during or before the credits, but they were heading there anyway and the ending music was beautiful. I have also noticed themes like anti-hate in the few other Miyazaki movies I've seen. I remember hearding from one of his interviews when these movie were on TCM that sometimes people don't listen and he puts something in his movies that people should hear. I think it was something like that, but I don't get that channel. Anyway, this movie was great. To me, its right up there with Spirited Away, at least. I'm looking foreword to seeing more of his movies.

It was fine. At first, I thought The Pirates were the enemy. And didn't the father of the pirates kind of reminded you of Dr. Eggman?

Like many, Miyazaki's works are generally seen as of my favorite anime movies and part of my best in my entire anime collect. I regret I don't own all his work but I am happy to at least own every movie that was created by him and that I've enjoyed everyone one down the the very last drop.

Although I cannot really compare this movie to the rest of his that I have in my collect, I can say in the least that he does a superb job expressing out every little detail right to the very last drop. Good expressions, beautiful music, an incredible plot, and an exception drawing style have lead me to fall inlove with this movie, as much as the rest.

On a side note, this movie also houses one of the two appearences of one of my two favorite anime creatues/characters in his work. Though not making as nearly as big of an appearence as the little guy made in Nausicaa, he still made, with 3 others one very brief appearence about 1/2 to 2/3's of the way into the movie. IF you haven't guessed what I'm talking about, I'm talking about the little animals "Fox-Squirrel". Ever since I watched Nausicaa (probably the third anime series/movie that I saw that I both knew was made in "Japan" and second series/movie that I saw in Japanese) back in the end of my Sophmore class in High school (May/June 2000), I've absolutely adored and loved the little guy. Infact, I've drawing quite a few drawings of him ( This one being of my personal best, as well as favorite ), and am even planning to make a FFXI WHM/SMN themed costume for this years Otakon Convention and using him in an anthroish form. =P I've successfully annoyed a few of my friends with my love for the little guy, heh. =P (and if I recall, Nausicaa is coming on soon, and that means... TETO!!! XD)

On another Side note: This movie is as old as I am, created in 1984 =P

I really like this movie alot. Probably my favorite of Miyazaki's work. Mark Hamill did an excellent job on Muska; Sheeta was sweet and innocent; Dola's sons are hilarious and enjoyable, and the train chase happen to be my favorite scene.

Yeah, all those made-up animals were interesting. Like the furry beaver/platypus things that swam. XD

That reminds me, why won't they show Totoro? I've heard good things about that movie, it may have been the one that interested me the most. Ah well.

They WILL show Totoro, just not part of Toonami, everyone mark your calendars:

This Thursday, April 13th at 7pm, they will show My Neighbor Totoro, the NEW dub, don't worry! A review thread will be made, and it will be labeled as Week 4.5.

On Cartoon Network? And what do you mean "don't worry?" I heard the Disney dub is not as good as the first Fox dub. I have the VHS of the Fox version and I liked it. I like Dakota Fanning and all, but I heard she there were people who didn't like her voice. I'll still watch it anyway. I haven't seen the new dub.

Argh, too many Studio Ghibli films to buy and little money to buy them with.
