Which 10 episodes of both series' Pocket Monsters and Pocket Monsters Advanced Generation (even though it hasen't ended yet) do you consider classics, and why? *Banned Episodes Count!
Mine are:
Pocket Monsters
1.Beauty And The Beach
- This is the 2nd most controversial episode of the series due to James "breasts". Even though they were fake this nice rack automatically ranks #1 on my list.
2.*Electric-Soldier Porygon!
- The most controversial episode of the series period! This episode will go down in history for what it's done to millions of Japanese children.
3.*The Legend Of Dratini!
- Not really that controversial as the first two on my list (in my opinion), but I do like the fact that it featured the Safari Zone from the game, and the fact that Ash captured 30 Tauros

4.Gotta Catch Ya Later!
- Most popular episode of the series due to Misty leaving the show, and a MAJOR POKESHIPPING episode, nuff said!
5.Pokemon, I Choose You!
- What list of classic episodes would be complete without the episode that started it all! I loved seeing that huge thundershock Pikachu used on the Sparrow, Misty's 1st appearance, her bike getting fried, and the foreshadow of there being more than just 150 pokemon by Ho-oh's appearance.
6.The Heartbreak Of Brock
- It was cool to see someone else crushing on Brock for a change (who turns out to be a bigger hormonal nut-job then him IMO), and Misty admitting that she loves Ash !
7.Misty Meets Her Match
- I loved seeing Misty being torn between Ash and Rudy (a guy who's not afraid to show his feelings towards her), and one of my favorite water pokemon Squirtle learned Hydro Pump in this episode.
8.Forrest Grumps
- This is one of those episodes I could watch over and over again. In fact this episode's plot alone was so popular that it was duplicated again in two episodes of AG (A Hole Lotta Trouble and *Mt. Moon! With Cleffa, Clefairy and Clefable!). It was great seeing Misty and Jessie switch teams (no pun intended) and interact with their enimies.
9.Pikachu Re-Volts
- Seeing Pikachu goes evil for the first time (along with Togepi) was cool. This was one of Butch and Cassidy's most brilliant plans (until they start screwing up like Jessie and James later on during the hoso's), and my all-time favorite pokemon proves to the haters that he can be useful once in a while!
10.Dues And Dont's!
- One of the funniest (if not the funniest) Team Rocket-based episodes. I like Delibird's attacks!
Pocket Monsters Advanced Generation
1.*Shaking Island Battle! Barboach VS Whiscash!!
- Not really that much of a controversial episode compared to the others IMO, but the fact that no one has EVER seen this episode in Japan or America automatically places it at the top of this list as a classic.
2.A Togepi Mirage
- The so called "annoying, useless baby-egg pokemon" evolves and proves it's worth once again towards the haters. Plus this episode had a farewell scene that was 10x better then the one in "Gotta Catch Ya Later" IMO.
3.*Deciding Match! Grand Festival (3)!!
- This episode (actually the entire 3-partner) shows how May truly has evolved as a character and a trainer. She made it soo far in the Grand Festival, and even though she lost she put up a better fight then she did when they first battled. She also displayed great maturity by accepting her loss in comparision to how she reacted when she lost to Drew the first time in "Win, Lose, Or Drew".
4.*Oak Laboratory! All Members Gathering!!
- Another one of those episodes I could watch over and over again (I have it saved on my computer). The only episode where all of Ash's traveling partners (minus Brock and Todd (if you count Todd that is)) come together. Once again the writers screw us over in a way by the lack of Misty/May interaction, but it makes up for that IMO with the Orangeshippping hints.
5.*Ash and May! Heated Battles In Hoenn!!
- Even though it's a clip show it counts as an episode to me (and it's the series' first ever clip show which makes it stand out even more). Definetely classic episode material!
6.The Bicker The Better!
- One of the most popular AG episodes IMO, and one that featured the most Advanceshipping hints in the series so far. I loved the tag-battles, and the whole sexism plot!
7.Get The Show On The Road!
- Like I stated previously in my list above this one, no classic episode list is complete without the episode that started it all. We got a great introduction to the new girl/2nd main character May, a brand new shipping possibility, and a great fresh start to a new series!
8.Cruisin' For A Losin'
- Another popular AG episode which killed May's newly overconfident ego. Seeing May get pwned so easily (especially after her ridiculous win at the Verdanturf) totally made this episode and classic in my book!
9.A Shroomish Skirmish
- Like Togepi another baby pokemon got their chance to shine in the spotlight for once! Combusken rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!
10.Lessons In Lilycove!
- May proves that she learned her lesson from her last contest loss, and pwned her new (girl)friend to win the Lilycove contest. Also once again a new shipping has been born!
