Prologue:
Holding each other by the pale moonlight, the two lovers destined to be apart, held each other closely. The rose-haired maiden and the dark haired ninja just embraced until he came.
They looked into each other’s eyes and were thinking about all the troubles and pain they had to go through. Then, a rustle in the leaves of the trees alerted them of him.
When the pale creature came from the shadows of the surrounding forest, they were not afraid. They just looked at him in the eye and prepared for battle.
The girl, garmenting a pink colored, short-sleeved shirt, and tan colored shorts, pulled out a pair of leather gloves from her pocket. She placed one on each hand that fitted perfectly and got into a fighting stance with her fists up.
The boy, wearing just a white tunic that opened to show his neck and his muscular chest, a violet belt, and sandals, brought out his sword and began to decipher the monster’s next move with his eyes. His eyes became red and three swirling dots appeared around his pupils.
He was filled with courage and boldness to prepare for the fight against the person who taught him for three years. The man who was his mentor was a great, but evil person, who was of the Sennin rank...
...the man named Orochimaru.
Sasuke felt a tinge of pain on the back of his neck. Over the years when he left Konoha, he was able to withstand the pain he felt in the pale man’s presence. He disciplined himself and it worked. It was sensible because he wanted to learn from him everyday.
Sakura glanced at Sasuke to make sure he was alright. Ever since the 2nd part of the Chuunin exams, she has been worried and that was at least three years ago. When he looked back at her to confirm that he was alright, they made their move.
Sakura jumped up into the air and pounded the ground with all the force she could muster. She would have done her sensei for three years, Tsunade, proud. The earth began to shake and a shockwave spread out into Orochimaru’s direction uprooting all the grass and causing debris to fly everywhere. Sasuke had to shut his eyes when tiny bits of dust and sand blew towards him.
As planned, he leapt up and took out the legendary “Grass-cutter” sword, the Kusanagi. Suddenly, he was taken off guard by swift shadow passing by.
Uchiha Sasuke was able to take the sword out of his hand without much force, but was shocked when the sword burst into smoke to show that it was just a tree branch.
Sakura took a chance while Orochimaru was descending from his jump, and jumped up to perform a chakra-filled uppercut. Her leather gloves glowed with a green light as she powered up her attack.
Suddenly, the pale man with black hair disappeared without a trace leaving Sakura with a futile attack and a very hot, glowing hand.
Cursing the man, Sasuke landed on a tree’s thick trunk and jumped towards Orochimaru, again.
“Heh…you never did remember that I always created one clone before a fight during our training sessions did you now, dear Sasuke,” whispered the figure that appeared right behind the boy in the white tunic.
Two Orochimarus appeared right beside him; the one they were fighting and a clone. The chuckled when Sasuke began to panic, but started to get worried when his shock became
“Sadly no,” said Sasuke with a smirk. “I never was prepared, so if we ever did fight like this, you would be caught off guard.”
Suddenly, four other clones unsheathed their katanas, and struck the two Orochimarus' bodies simultaneously, but when they burst into smoke and air, the ground shook.
“Sasuke, watch out!” warned Sakura screaming as loud as she could. “Manda is right behind you!”
Sasuke landed softly on the grass along with his clones which dissipated when he commanded them to. When he turned, he was caught unprepared and that was what caused his downfall. He tried to perform the Phoenix Fire Flower jutsu, but it was too late. The fireballs fizzeled into steam as the many bursts of energy came into contact with the mighty reptile. The giant violet snake, with its human familiar on its head, swallowed the Uchiha boy whole.
Inside, Sasuke died slowly, in the venom of Manda’s mouth, but Manda spit him back out because he tasted like dirt.
“A shame, I could have used his family eye ability, the sharingan ability,” sighed Orochimaru holding his head.
He grinned at Sakura running to catch the body of his dead pupil.
"Oh well. That is what happens when you betray me for some Konoha punk. Sasuke, Sasuke, Sasuke."
Sakura ran to the body of her love using chakra in her hands to slow the rate at which he was falling.
She couldn't take in all that happened, so she collapsed and fell to her knees, as warm salty tears poured out of her sorrowful eyes, which has seen so many fall in battle. The tears glistened in the milky moonlight.
Years later, when future ninja, would observe a painting of her or read a biography of her, they would comment on her unimaginable beauty, but also know the pain and grief in the life she lead.
She held his head closely to hers as her tears fell unto his cheeks. The only chance he had to live again was Tsunade's healing techniques, but it might be too late already.
Sakura began to shake at the loss of her true counterpart that fulfilled her purpose in life. He wasn’t coming back to comfort her and hold her head closely to his heart anymore on the days when the cherry trees blossomed and they were surrounded by beauty, and this hurt her the most.
Suddenly, the ground began to shake yet again because of a summoned creature.
A gigantic, red and brown toad was walking towards Manda and Orochimaru with a man in red on its head. He was wearing his usual red robe and his unique hitai-ate.*
"So you've come Jiraya. I am up for a challenge!" said Orochimaru.
Jiraya looked at the vile man with disgust and hatred.
“Sakura-chan, get back,” ordered the white haired man riding on the boss of the toads Gamabunta. “Naruto, Shikamaru, Neji, and Kiba are waiting for you. Just follow Gamakichi.”
Sakura was overwhelmed with what was happening, but she threw Sasuke’s lifeless body on the big, orange toad, and she climbed on and bounded off into the darkness…
