Tournaments or events?

Hey guys, so, I'm new here and had a look around, not really sure where to post this question and most topics about tournaments are outdated by a few years (that I could find at least).

So I'm new to playing Pokemon video games, I played S&M and now just started Sword. Its sparked an interest to play competitively once I complete the game and get a decent team behind me.

My question is, is there anywhere online that holds tournaments / events for such a thing?

I know I could theoretically find somewhere local to play (once the pandemic permits), however there are several restrictions for me in that respect, mainly that I'm disabled which restricts my capability to go out a lot, then there is the issue that there is no where really "local" that I would be able to travel too.

Pokémon Sword & Shield have a system built in that allows you to host and participate in competitions. I haven't done either though, and I've never found any on my own, so I can't really tell you much more than that.
