Trading capabilities with Diamond/Pearl to R/S/E,FR/LG,Emerald.

We know that Diamond/Pearl will allow us to trade our HARD TRAINED POKEMON from R/S/E,FR/LG,Emerald to Diamond/Pearl.

Note:I don't have Nintendo DS,I am getting for Christmas this year.

But I was thinking,Nintendo DS doesn't allow R/S/E,FR/LG,Emerald to trade or do Link Battles.

So,how will we be able to trade from R/S/E,FR/LG,Emerald to Diamond/Pearl?

Will there be a new Link Cable that is compatible with the GBA and Nintendo DS?

Will there be a new Wireless Adapter that is compatible with the Nintendo DS and the GBA?

Will the regular Wireless Adapter be able to help us trade from Nintendo DS to the GBA?

Will the regular GBA Link Cable be compatible with Nintendo DS?

This has been on my mind since I woke up from bed.

Here's what I could see working:

No. Where on the DS would it go?

No. See above. (and below)

This could work. There's no hardware barrier.

Will the regular GBA Link Cable be compatible with Nintendo DS?

No. Where on the DS would it go?

And one very likely method you didn't mention: direct transfer by inserting a GBA game into the DS's GBA slot and playing D/P.

It's also possible (though they've never done it before, so don't get your hopes up) they might patch FR/LG/Em to support fouth-gen stuff.

None of what you said. The DS have an entrance for GBA cartiridges. You will need of just one D or P, the DS and one of R/S/E/FR/LG.

I agree with the very last thing that MetalMario listed. I just always assumed that trading would take place with the GBA cartridge in the GBA slot. That is how I think the trading will go down.

Well I didn't know that the Nintendo DS had an extra space for GBA games.
I though that GBA and DS games could fit in just one slot of the DS.

I want a Nintendo DS so badly,and I can't wait for Diamond and Pearl.

Last I heard, it was apparently possible to have the GBA game in the GBA slot and the DS game in the DS slot and they would somehow communicate... I don't know how that would work...

Do people not bother to read FAQS any more? Please read them. In case you don't the DS has two slots. One for GBA and one for DS games. If you put the two in, they recognize each other and you can transfer data. Want proof? Play Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red and Blue.
