I read on a site that there's a guy in Rustboro (in Emerald) that will trade you a Seedot for a Ralts. The Seedot will be nicknamed and have mail attached. I really want the Seedot because it's so rare but I don't want to have it nicknamed. So if I did the trade, can I go to a name raters house and change it? Or can I just breed it and then release it? Or if I evolved it, would it's name change to Nuzleaf? (Sry but I never in my life have owned a nicknamed Pokemon.) If yes to the name rater question, where is a name rater in Emerald?

It'll be nicknamed "DOTS" and cannot have its name changed since its from a different OT (Original Trainer). In the past, I traded a level 48 ralts which leveled up through a series of chain breedings, and the Level 48 seedot I got knew the explosion move that it can only learn as a seedot or move tutor, but its IVs sucked for training consideration, but kept it for Lilycove lottery purposes at least.

yes you can, but you´ll have less chances to win in the loto. and you can´t re-nickname it.

Just go ahead and do what you want! Except re name it! I think you should train it if you're using the game with no seedots and only lotads though.

The point is that they CAN'T rename Pokemon they obtained in a trade.

Anyway, all their questions have been answered, so I'm going to close. :)
