Trainers getting attacked

In the manga and anime when pokemon dodge attacks, why dont the trainers ever get hit. I never remember a trainer getting hurt in battle or by a dodged attack. Kinda careless of the makers of pokemon, eh?

They probably stand further away, or the pokemon direct the battle so that they will not barrel into a trainer if they miss. Isn't it obvious?

Well they just don't want trainers to get hurt, besides the pokemon battles are focused on battles, and I remeber some battles that had a little effect on trainers like when May's skitty used blizzard..etc

are kidding me! lol How many times have team rocket been "Blasted away" by Pikachu? or what about ash in the first movie when he caught hit by both mew an mewtwo's attack, and "killed" him. (him turning to stone was lame but all things considered better that then angry parents). and i recall an episode where misty got hit by a vileplum's stun spore and ash had to dive down to the bottom of some lake to keep a medical seaweed. i'm sure there are more but i don't watch the anime enough. as for the manga... sadly i've never read it. Oh! i just thought of one more. in pokemon the movie 2000. the 3 legendairy bird were fighting each other and ash constantly had to dodge their missed attacks. okay i'm done now.....

back.
And often, Team Rocket attacks the trainers as well as their pokemon before their futile efforts land them in the air.

hmm...that didn't sound right.

The attacks usually have minor effects on the trainers/coordinators... they also probably would take some safety precautions.

Probably not since their keeping a distance. Then again, collosal attacks may only do minor or harldy any damage to the trainer.

Although, im not completly sure.

lots of luv!
Even if they keep their distance, how can they get away from attacks like surf or Muddy Water?

Wazzup, man?
This makes me think of times when fans pretended trainers could fight.

Wild PIKACHU appeared!
Trainer sent out...HIMSELF!
Trainer used Tackle!
PIKACHU got a bloody nose and black eye!
PIKACHU used Thunder!
Trainer exploded!
Trainer is unable to battle and will be eaten!

For some reason, I can imagine that. Of course, people have been attacked by Pokemon. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned how many times Ash would be shocked by Pikachu. Can't think of many times in battle, though.

Yeah, I wondered why when a pokemon used sing the trainers don't fall asleep. And in a double battle only the target pokemon falls asleep. Why aren't the partner and the target's partner asleep?

and surf should hit the trainer.

Well it will not be a children anime anymore if humans get hurt.

What really bothered me was when in professional competitions when a Pokemon dose a highly explosive attack and the fans don't get hurt. The only thing that I can think of is that there are Ghost Pokemon protecting them. Do you think that would work? ;025;

ph334r me!...Please?
I think Pokémon attacks can't hurt trainers badly, unless it's a very strong attack, but then it would be just a minor damage. I like to think Pokémon are made of a very weak material and their attacks only affect them.

And if everything else fails: A wizard did it.

The predator awaits.
Personally I think that probably attacks that cause damage over a large area like Blizzard, Earthquake or Explosion are probably going to cause at least some damage to the trainers. Since they affect everything on the battlefield it's a great possibility that the trainers are going to get hit as well.

This is otherwise known as splash damage.
