---what I'm getting
Personally I like to have different types of pokemon on my team and I never use legendaries. What kind of pokemon do you use? Do you train one pokemon, one certain type or do you mix types like myself? Do you trade your pokemon from other versions? Are there some pokemon that you use almost every tme you start your game new? You can post and discuss it all here.

I train my fav pokemon, and I only have one legendary in my team... an unusual legend. never mewtwo or ray. im thinkin latio/as and articuno. fav legends!

But when I battle competitivly I NEVER use legendaries and always use a well balanced team.
But im biased in what I use. I always tend to use water pokemon... My fav type !

I only carry Grass pokemon for the whole game, they're actually pretty good when it comes to capturing other 'mon (Sceptile for False Swipe, Breloom for Spore).

I train the Pokemon I find visually appealing and reasonably strong (I'm an artist) However, the coolest looking ones (Milotic, Ninetales, etc.) are usually sweepers. This may explain why I can't get past the 4th Dome round :x

No matter what happens, or the sky falls on my head, I always have the pokemon in my Trainer card with me. And i don't usually use surf, just Fly with salamence.

In all my restarted Emerald games, I always, repeat ALWAYS have a Gardevoir and a non-legendary Dragon Pokemon like Altaria =)

I always have one fire, water, grass, electric and flying type pokemon. The other slot is usually a rotation with whatever pokemon I need at that particular time, but I have grown fond of steel types.

I train every type of Pokemon and move all in the same team. I make sure that every type, except the ??? type, is represented through either a Pokemon's type or a Pokemon's move's type. That way I have at least one counter type to every single opponent type. Plus, I make sure every Pokemon is the same level before battling a Gym Leader or Frontier Brain.

I train Water Pokemon, but I have a few different types in my team. I just have 1-4 Water Pokemon in my team. I choose Pokemon that could survive for a long time in a battle and could do some damage. For some reason I like the birds you get at the start (Taillow, Pidgey) so I usualy have them in my team.

I try to diversify the selection of Pokemon I choose to use in each of my save files. Not only that, but I strive hard to try out Pokemon that I haven't used in my in-game journeys in the past. Usually I end up keeping my starter, but I do not any favoritism towards it rather treat it just as any other Pokemon, since frankly that's all it is.

I capture all the Pokémon, and I train them all. Right now, they are all at least 27-29, except those I've been training from an egg. I train my favorites higher (some up to 36), which include Swampert, Gardevoir, and Manetric, among others. This is why I've played over 200 hours in Emerald, and still haven't beaten the elite four yet. :)

I use my favorite Pokemon and try to raise them evenly. They're mostly Psychic-type, because I like special sweepers a lot. Although I do get into the habit of training Gardevoir more than the others. But a lot of the time I mix up my team, I have a lot of favorite Pokemon, like Arcanine, Swampert, Metagross, Salamence and Skarmory. Those are just to name a few. The only legendaries I use are Latias and Latios, but sometimes Jirachi, too.
