Transferring

Ive heard people say that you're probally gonna transfer pokemon between R/S/E/FG/LG and D/P. If that's true, the pokemon's official trainer stay the same of change when you traded it to diamond or pearl? I think it would change. What do you think?

It probably wouldn't change since it doesn't when you transfer Pokemon in Ruby and Sapphire, or any of the other games... What would make this one different?

Because transferring is different from trading. Transferring you just transferr it to the other game. Trading is giving someone a pokemon and they give a pokemon back to you.

Oh, right. I forgot! xP But still, I don't think it will change... The Original Trainer is still the Originl Trainer... ;o

Anyway, I think that in these games we will not need to trade a pokémon because of both cartridges being in the same console and the new pokémon not being compatible with the old games, that´s why it will transfer them and not trade them.

So you could trade old pokemon with old moves.....they'll probably just have it where you tranfer all your pokemon into D/P.

It wouldn't happen because they couldn't make it happen with R/B/Y+G/S/C to R/S/E. But if by some miracle they can, I would love to trade my old pokemon to my newer games.

I dont mean to burst your bubble or anything but they already announced that you can transfer pokemon between R/S/E and D/P.

Yeah, I guess you're right. The official trainer is the official trainer.

Why would it change? The Original Trainer will always be the Original Trainer. Transferring isnt oh-so incredibly different then trading.

My guess is that this game will work in the same basic manner that the time travel machine thingy in G/S used. Im guessing you could only trade old pokemon(R/S/E/FR/LG) with old attacks down to their respective games. It would seem to be the logical thing to do. Actually, that is what im pretty sure they might end up doing. It would seem perfectly logical to do so anyways.

Also, for the trainer thing, when you trade from FR/LG to R/S/E, does the trainer in R/S/E look like the one in FR/LG? No, i didnt think so.

What I really want to know is if it will actually remove the Pokemon from the old GBA cart or just "Copy" them. Remember, trading Pokemon means you don't get to keep them on the original cart in any way.

The problem if they do not remove them from the original cart is what prevents you from just giving people your GBA cart to get rare pokemon off it? Or duplicating items (if items are allowed to be transfered over)?

If they do remove the Pokemon from the old cart, would any of us really want to give up ALL our old Pokemon from our old games?

I think they will probadly just make it so that one Trainer ID/Game will be allowed to transfer over to D/P. But this idea causes problems to us with more then one Pokemon Game (which is most of the community).

It's transferring not trading it's giving your 3rd gen stuff to the 4th gen games.

You will be able to trade Pokemon over from R/S/FR/LG/E i'm sure, the D/P game will be programmed with all Pokemon from 001-? whatever the final number. Because the older GBA games were made before D/P when you transfer a Pokemon from say FR to D/P the D/P game probably instructs the FR to 'release' which Pokemon you choose to transfer but not show you the release part of it on screen it probably just fades without any 'Sneasel was released', bye bye stuff on screen and then like cheaters do with AR's make a certain Pokemon in this case the chosen transfered one appear in your party and that part would be programmed in D/P.
