I prefer Torchic myself. It was the first starter I picked when I first played the Ruby version all those years ago. I like it because it has a unique type combination when fully evolved, plus its stats are great enough to hold its own in the Battle Frontier and in Link Cable Battles. Although completely destroyable by Swampert, that doesn't really matter because each one of the starters fails to even have a fighting chance against its weakness (except maybe Swamper w/ Ice Beam).

I was talking about a Pokemon LOSING to its weakness, not beating it. That was my whole point, that Swampert can destroy Blaziken in one hit, Blaziken beat Sceptile easily, and Sceptile crush Swampert. The starters are all very powerful vs most other Pokemon however when fight their weaknesses they don't stand a chance.

We're not battling here. It isn't only Swampert that can battle against Blaziken, it can be Sceptile or it can be Oddish! Or everything else.
