My thoughts:

(+) Finally some interaction between Asahi and Tsurugi
(+) So, I'm right about Asahi being a water-type specialist. Kind logical to come up with that but let me have my moment.
(+) Tsurugi is a good guy
(+) Callback to past episodes and events (Alola-Ninetales, Golurk, the weird hiker)
(+) Goh battling to catch
(+) Goh handled almost everything by himself while still maintaining nice balance between him and Ash.
(+) Shiny Volcarona. See it controlling the fire like that was nice.
(+) Pokémon moves being used in an interesting and thoughtful way (the trial was about that after all)
(+) Osu! Both Urshifu fighting together was really cool to see, even though they just showcased their signature moves, which was nicely animated btw (I really liked how the camera moves when Rengeki do his strikes)
(+) Goh's Pokedex said that Rengeki (Rapid-Strike) created a martial arts style. I don't remember seeing this information in any other media, but it's some of the lore I always thought the Pokémon lacked.

(-) They get loose from the webs kinda through luck I guess?
(-) Are there any other participants in this Project besides Goh and Gary? I know we're only at the beginning, but for now it seems like all things still revolve around Goh.
(-) I still think there's no need to put Ash in Project Mew missions (at least they didn't screw up with him this time)
(-) I hope Asahi and Tsurugi don't show up so often. I'd like to see them in situations that their power is REALLY needed. I'm not sure if this was one of them (I felt that Ash could beat these hunters), but please OLM/TVT don't go overboard on the exposition just for merchan.

I was ready to hate it and expose the flaws in this episode but I think it avoided almost all the mistakes EP 71 made and I found it well written and nicely paced overall, specially for Journeys standards.

And yet another fully evolved Pokemon captured with no effort whatsoever! Yet another favorite of mine too... -_-
What a writer's pet! And how come they pump these out when we wait decades for PWC episodes? It's bull ****

I don't see the point of non-TRio antagonists when they have a Gacha machine, just makes the thing look even more pointless every week this saga goes on. Serves no benefit, can Bewear just punch it already?

Dracovish and Eelektross were nice though!

Giving the episode such a low rating coz it features Goh, Goh catches a Mon he weakened severly and coz of your Ash and TR fanboyism? LMAO

Serviceable episode. Honestly, I think I like the previous Project Mew episode a bit better. Here, it felt like Ash and Goh got the short ending of the stick and end up looking amateurs just so the plot could move on as scheduled. Honestly, Tsurugi's and Asahi's role felt more like a cheap gimmick to show off the Urshifuus and their gimmick but considering how animation was bad, it was a very hard sale. And this is coming from someone show thinks Urshifuus are cool!

Other than that not much to say besides I'm really not feeling the concept of Project Mew. Feels something poorly put together just so Goh has something to do other than chuckling pokéballs. Hope later showings are more interesting.

You sum up all the problems Project Mew have in a few words.

Chapeau!

I think like @nuzamaki90 said the problem is that the trial itself doesn’t feel any different to any other normal ep?

Aside from my problem with ash participating, another negative if the trials so far is that you could take out the context of PM and it wouldn’t be any different to a normal episode. Especially with how episodic and random this series is. The golurk, flygon, zapdos, or suicune ep could easily be converted to a PM episode.

On the other hand gym, contest, and showcase episodes are very unique as you won’t get what’s in it in another random episode. So the PM trials needs something more unique to make it pop and stand out.

Break the Limit
I look at project mew as less of a rigid system of challenges that need to have set guidelines and rules and more nebulous goals serve better for the sake of the person needing to be adaptable and be ready for anything. I see them as opportunities for Goh to grow rather than a milestone checklist that has a quota needed to be met,

Watched it now
Boring and pointless
These random Pokemon catching is just not interesting and just makes it feel trivial. It was so fun when main characterscatching Pokemon was exiting, instead of just catch some Pokemon on the fly, on ur way ..
Atleast we saw oneof Ash’s Pokemon which is very rare in the current series

Who wants to bet the unique professor is Goh's main villain.

I will be really surprised cause Pokémon writers do not know the term "twist", they kept this as simple as possible.

It would make more sense to use the guy who was so obsessed with Mew that created his clone. Off course that would require some effort.

But again "It insists upon itself, Lois"

Almighty Zard

He has returned.
so apparently the group of hunters in this episode were responsible for the abduction of the alola ninetales during Goh's first trial, and it seems more like Tsurugi wanted to deal with them more than actually save Ash and Goh, Asahi on the other hand didn't seem to mind that bit.

still think it's interesting Goh dexed Asahi's Urshifu after Ash dexed Tsurugi's, guess that helps indicate who would get what form if they are meant to get Kubfu.

A person does not like the episode, and some of you jump like he did not like the Godfather or something. Jesus...

The Matrix is overrated.

I just watched the episode and man did I find it boring. Wasn't a fan of the prior Koharu episode, but I'd take that over what transpired in this episode any day of the week. The concept was uninteresting, the execution was dull, and this episode is basically emblematic of my inherent problems with the plot heavy episodes of Journeys.

There's simply nothing compelling or fun in what I watched here.

Can't believe I'm rooting for more " fillers, " but please more episodes in the vein of 61 versus this.
