I'm signing in o/ If induced recoil from an ability (Rough Skin/Iron Barbs/Liquid Ooze/Aftermath, Rocky Helmet) results in a double faint, the winner is the Pokemon with the ability that caused the recoil faint. This means that if you punch a Ferrothorn and Iron Barbs causes a double KO, the Ferro wins.

I know, these ruling are tricky, and under Pokémon VGC as well as Smogon Rules, your situation would have had you the winner. However, since we are looking to differentiate challengers based on Win points in the case of a tie, the third round was required and is in fact in your interest.
The rules don't perfectly overlap with Smogon in this case, since Flat Rules also exclude Pokemon like Mew from participating, but we have to improvise to fit both the Smogon format as well as the purposes of our Tourney and Tourney theme. Glad you completed your third round though!
