I am trying to catch a Carvanha, but there's a problem. I can't find any. I am using the proper rod in the proper routes, but I have yet to find a wild Carvanha. Okay, I admit, I do get a lot of "it got away"s, and I think those are the Carvanha. Is there some special trick to hooking pokemon while fishing?

No. There is no special trick to garauntee a catch. In emerald, though, you can increase your chance of a bite with a pokemon that has suction cups/sticky hold. You can find carvanha by using a good or super rod on routes 118-119

Just fish on Route 119 with a Super Rod...all that appear with that are Carvanha and Feebas if you are on teh right tile for Feebas. But basically, you'll only get Carvanha. ^^ Good luck!

like the above said, Route 119 is the best route to find it, you just better hope you don't find any Feebas
