Two Questions

Ok, I've been hatching eggs for a Modest Natured ;137; . I've been at this since 6 this morning. (taken note that I passed out at 9 until 3) I've hatched around 30 eggs and I have yet to get a Modest ;137; . Is that normal?

On another note I've been trying to catch a ;128; in the safari zone. Is there like a technique to catching Safari Zone pokemon?

1.Egg hatching can take a while. You're just unlucky.
2.I don't think there's a technique. I just kept looking and whenever I saw one, I chucked Safari Balls at them until I eventually caught one.

Getting any nature is random, you may not get a modest nature for another 800 eggs.

There is a kind of technique, throwing bait and rocks to distract a pokemon before you toss a safari ball.

once you get to the area you can find it, the regular way to get the most out of your luck is to lightly tap the d-pad so you dont move but merely change directions. that lets youget new incounteres without costing against your 600 steps. caught myself a chansey that way.

of course, throw balls only at the thing you want, or you'll be wasting your chances. i prefer not throwing bait or rocks.

That is a wicked overexaggeration.

Give it another 10 eggs before you start to seriously wonder what the heck is going on.

Do not take this as gospel truth, but throwing a rock increases the chances of the Pokémon staying in the ball-- it also makes it more likely for them to run away. Vice versa with the bait-- they stay, but are more difficult to catch.

watching my luck, I'll probably hit a Shiny Porygon before I get a Modest one.
I don't think thats true but a shiny porygon would be cool. and i got 2 tauros, just surf from the entrance, turn right, there will be Tauros in the grass around lv.25 once you get one breed it with a ditto (if you can get to 4 Island) and you'll have more tauros.well anyway in Safari zone get to that patch of grass and gently touch the d-pad so you don't really make any steps, it gives u infinite time.good luck!

Just SR for Porygon at the Game Corner...It's a lot faster.

Yeah, well maybe I want to raise it from Level 5.

But oh.......WOOH!

After about 15 more eggs I FINALLY GOT MY MODEST PORYGON! (Well those 50 some porygons can go in my Pokemon Box R/S towards a Surfing Pikachu)

With 1. I agree
With 2. ask your friend to breed you a Torus

1. Don`t know, don`t care. Natures are useless IMO.\

2. I still haven`t caught a chansey. Sweet scent is my strategy. 3 island is chock full of sweet scenting weepinbells

The_Landlord

I don't care...
I have two Modest Porygon... one with apparently better IVs in everything... just thought you should know that...

!. I dont worry about the natures btu when I do it's usually like 2-3 eggs before I get the right 1

2. I dont know why but when I'm trying too get something else like a Chancey with a lucky egg who has one of those Tauos and Kangahskan and Scyther are the only thing I see

`Tips
1: Keep hatching

If you have pokemon emerald, find a ditto with a modest nature (or if you have a porygon with one already and want to try for better IV's, trade them to emerald, stick an Everstone with one of them and try and get eggs that way. It guarentees a 50% chance of the egg being the nature of one of the parents.

As for the Safari Zone, there's no real trick to it, just luck and time. With the "uber" Safari Zone pokemon (chansey, tauros, scyther, kangaskhan), throwing bait and rocks seems a waste of time, and are more than likely to run. Just lob safari balls at them and EVENTUALLY, you will catch one, although I do occasionally throw rocks at Chansey out of spite.

Well it's possible to get every nature with every Pokémon FYI. The chances are the same apparently. But the Snowlaxes I captured tend to be either Relaxed or Lax nature XP.

What I do against these Pokémons? Chuck a ball at it and set a prayer.

I've got a trick for the Safari catching.

Here are my steps to do it:

1. Throw a Safari ball first
2. If the pokemon doesn't run away, throw a bait
3. Use a ball again.
4. throw a rock.
5. Keep using the ball until it is caught.

It's essential to throw the ball at it first because you don't want to waste your chances of catching it. If it decides to leave in the first round, it will leave regardless of what you throw (ball, bait, rock, whatever).

That's how I caught my lucky Chansey. :)

Serious, don't was your time at breeding for a certain Nature. The difference isn't that big, so why would you waste much time on something that doesn't bother that much?
