Tyraniboah for Battle Tower

Whompithian

Dynamo Trainer
Tyranitar@Shell Bell
Trait: Sandstream
EVs: 252 HP, 188 Sp. Atk, 70 Speed
Nature: Quiet (+Sp. Atk, -Speed)
-Crunch
-Thunderbolt
-Substitute
-Focus Punch

This is one of the recommended sets on Smogon. I intend to keep the Nature, moves and EV spread as they are. However, I'm not sure if the Shell Bell is a suitable stand-in for Leftovers (already used by another Pokemon on my team), or is there a better item I should be using? Also, her IVs are 31 HP, 31 Attack, 31 Sp. Atk, 8 Defense, 10 Sp. Def, 31 Speed. Since it's taken several months for me to get IVs this good, I'm thinking of keeping her, but I don't know how important high defenses are for a Tyraniboah. So, my main question is, should I keep this one or bread another one to gain better defenses, even if it costs me a little Attack? I thank you in advance for your thoughtful suggestions.

Meh, I wouldn't reccomend it since it needs 31 hp iv, but it isn't that good ingaem tbh.

if you're going to use boah anyway, i'd say use that one. defenses are useful, but it's more a sweeper than a tank.. by the way, (and this is directed to the vets here who know something about boah,) why does it have speed EVs despite the -speed nature? i'd heard it was something about outspeeding weezing's WoW, but if so does it really need to be used for that in-game, where weezing's not as common?

No Darkness Catcher, it is actually quite a good combo. First, you sub then you Focus Punch. Guaranteed success.

If Boah isn't meant for tanking, then I will just train this one. Thanks for answering that question. Any suggestions on the item, or is Shell Bell okay?

About outspeeding Weezing, I'm doing that so I'll be able to use this Tyranitar in competitive battles, too. I've got a friend who's been demanding a battle with me. He's really good and I don't know what he has on his team, although I suspect he uses a DD Tar.

Then dont post. Shell Bell could work but im sure theres something better.

Leftovers is always a good option for Tyraniboah.

i think he already used that though.

He'll have to swap Items because Tyranitar really needs the Lefties.

Another option can be Liechi Berry,or BrightPowder?

It is there so it outspeeds Blissey (and other things in the 146 Speed Bracket; like Ursaring and Machamp), Weezing and The Regi's.
But I suppose you could put the other Evs into a more useful stat suited for in-game.

In the Battle Tower, my Wobbufet needs the Leftovers more. If I use this Tyranitar in a Link Battle I can give it Leftovers, but I need something else in the Tower. I do like the idea of using a Pinch Berry, though.

prophecy fulfilled
Use Scope lens or something on Tyranitar if Lefties are already in use.

Scope Lens / Brightpowder will both work, pinch berries probably won't work as it isn't the fastest

Since there have been no objections to my Tyranitar's poor defenses I've begun its Effort Training. Once I get that and leveling done, I'll try out the different items that all of you have suggested and see which one works best for me. Thank you to everyone who has provided me with your suggestions.

You could give Tyranitar a King's Rock so the opponent may sometimes flinch.
give something that has 61 base speed and a -Speed nature a king's rock? flinching relies on hitting first.
