U.S. Politics: The Biggest Trade in WNBA History

VP debates have literally never mattered. Joe Biden slamming Paul Ryan didn't even do anything.

Honestly, debates in general don't matter. They happen so late in the game that by the time voters see them, most of them have pretty much already made up their minds, and absentee voters largely have already voted by now. Not to mention if someone believes something, then no amount of 'debating' or 'fact checking' is going to change that.

It's disheartening, but when you think about it, debates are pretty much meaningless.

Pence is certainly no Jack Kennedy, but then, Kaine is clearly no Lloyd Bentsen.

Still, like I say all the time, I have no idea why anyone cares who the VP is. Every election cycle everyone assumes their candidate will select some A-list politician, and every time, each of them chooses some loser. Why? No idea.

tell that to the polling after the first debate.

Pence 'won' because Kaine didn't make himself more personable by being too eager and interrupting often. He also let so many softball statements by Pence go through. At the same time, Pence tried to defend a candidate that doesn't exist. If this was a traditional race, then Kaine definitely dropped the ball. But since Pence's running mate is Donald Trump, a lot of those punches by Kaine are going to stick. An informed undecided voter would probably say Kaine didn't impress on demeanor, while Pence just kept denying stuff that his candidate openly said. In the end, I don't think it matters. Maybe it'll stop some of the Trump's post-debate bleeding, but it'll be forgotten by the time the second Presidential debate comes around.

The debates do matter if the candidate messes up really badly, as we saw with Trump. It's just any substance talk really doesn't do much.

Honestly the debates should be fixed in a few ways. The biggest one being live fact checkers.

Also from advisors Trump is mad Pence did better than him, so even Pence winning still hurts him.

Trump is more mad that Pence didn't try to defend Trump in any of instances Kaine called Pence out on Trump's talking points.

It's becoming clearer that Kaine's goal was to cast a light on how shaky the Trump/Pence ticket really is, even between the two running mates, so that Clinton can knock the entire tower down Sunday in the second debate. To that end, Pence failed to reinforce.

Pence won short-term. Kaine focused on long-term. Now it's up to Trump to save the win, and up to Clinton to win it period Sunday.

With the exception of sara palin for obvious reason, the VP debate has rarely ever affect the overall numbers in a significant way at all.

He said it a very long time ago though, so I don't expect it to massively impact his chances. But at the same time it doesn't look good.

With Trump's mouth this is nothing new but god damn.

Lol the poor idiot's even going out of his way to apologize.

nah, this will be impactful. it's his own words, he's running against a woman, and even sources from the Trump camp are shivering in their boots. He immediately apologized. IMMEDIATELY.

they know he's in deep **** now. a bad second debate would be a final nail in the coffin.

If all goes wrong you can always blame it on your age, Billy Bush tried.

He was a good old rip age of 34 when this happened. If he were in his early 20's that'd be one thing.

And obviously Trump is getting off because lol "he wasn't running for president at the time, he wasn't a politician, it's just locker room talk".
