Pelosi, meanwhile, runs and hides in terror from the terrorists, like McConnell, by the 2 adjourning the legislature till the 19th.

No government, no punishment, only terror.

Cowards.

Cori Bush is a gem. That is all. These Republicans committed sedition, and this is an appropriate action.

And speaking of sedition, the four people confirmed dead were all people who breached the Capitol. Which is tragic, but deserved as they basically forfeited their safety when they stormed the building. So not too much of value was lost here. Yet.

And impeachment is definitely not a "super-liberal fantasy" as of now. Thank goodness for that.

Trump has officially put others in danger and really needs to be held accountable for his actions. Whoever fired the gunshots and hit innocent people committed a very serious federal crime as it happened in a government building. And all because the moron told them to go to the Capitol. Before all of this Trump could have ran for President again in 2024 and had a very minute possibility of getting into Office again as Grover Cleveland had this happen but now the giant Cheeto blew his chances.

Why are Americans against socialism?

Most Americans are against socialism because our policy for decades is to point to whatever the politicians don't like and call it socialism or communism. If universal healthcare is socialist, then our allies in the Cold War like Great Britain was probably drinking tea with the USSR.

Seriously, most policies denounced as socialism don't even go near the maddening policies of the USSR, PRC, or Khmer Rouge.

Seriously, my Korean, Taiwanese, and Japanese relatives look at how freaking dumb the US Federal Government is. Embezzlement is stimulating the economy, but donations mean we're letting in communism.

And wants to pardon himself, is that even possible?

Auto-pardoning hasn't exactly had a precedent and would probably need to go to the Supreme Court.

Whatever happens, Nero must be expelled from Rome.

I find it ridiculous that Trump supporters try to blame Obama for racial tensions which have always been there but are now really bad because Trump kept using racially derogatory things and his supporters then thought it must be okay to talk the same way because the President does it and whatever he says and does must be correct.

Im wondering how what little is left of the MAGA movement will blame this disaster on Obama like they have been doing for the past four years?

Here's a shortlist:
  1. Obama
  2. Hilary
  3. The Deep State
  4. "Communist" Democrats
  5. RINOs

More Lies

Disturbing how the comments keep praising the guy who is indirectly responsible for this situation. I mean sure he never told the crowd to start a violent riot that destroys property but it also would never have happened if he hadn’t told them to go to the Capitol. This is a double edge sword he played around with and he is the one that really screwed up. You don’t send an angry crowd capable of causing mass destruction to go to a government building and not expect something terrible from happening. Trump endangered too many lives and needs to be held accountable and in most other nations, what Trump did would be deemed illegal and a crime and he’d be booted permanently from power. I’m more concerned about the 2024 election and how Trump can still campaign to be President again and it is Constitutional. He wouldn’t be allowed to run for re-election but he can still run again for one more term. This is what happened with Grover Cleveland.

@KenzeyEevee Right wing rhetoric has pretty much conditioned Americans into believing socialism/communism as being synonymous with dictatorship and tyranny because of the Cold War and the Soviet Union, convincing them that those systems are boogeymen here to take their money and their freedoms. And yeah, Americans don't really understand socialism, if they did there'd be much more support for it.

In fact, not only do they not understand socialism, but they don't really understand communism either (I read excerpts of The Communist Manifesto for a poli sci class in college). The form of communism that we're familiar with in countries such as the Soviet Union, North Korea, and China are what Marx called "crude communism" and was meant to be a temporary, transitional form of communism, whereas Marx's ideal form of communism doesn't have a government at all. The communist countries we're familiar with are more like socialist dictatorships whereas Marx envisioned something more like a commune.
