U.S. Politics: The Biggest Trade in WNBA History

You're in Canada or Mexico. You're basically the apartment above a meth lab.
Canada. Even before the Trump politics, our infrastructure is pretty behind to the European and East Asian standards. Our country is huge but sparsely populated, so we can't really fund on extensive projects such as a high-speed train network and it's a nightmare to go around the country without a plane which really affects the transportation of goods like going from Winnipeg to Toronto among major cities. So I'm not surprised of our vaccination rate so far. And we don't have another neighboring country outside of the US, unlike Mexico which has other Latin America and Caribbean countries nearby.

And it's also shortsighted. Odds are, a nice communist revolution filled with rapes, pillaging, and burning is just around the corner if things get worse.

Honestly, revolution could either be really good or really bad at this point depending on who's leading the charge and what's going to happen when they take power. Communist revolution though, would fall on the bad side of things, communism has always led to tyrannical dictatorships that usually do more harm than good for their cause and would be best avoided. A socialist revolution though, one that instills a socialist democracy akin to those seen in Scandinavian countries, might be just what the doctor ordered. But for that to really work, a revolution would need to be followed up by Constitutional amendments that legislate out the kind of underhanded tactics that the right has been subsisting on. That's the difference between a successful revolution like the original revolution in this country and failed revolutions in third world countries, the American Revolution was led by level headed individuals who had ideas on how to make the government less corruptible, the less successful ones are led by mobs who overthrow their leader and become just as corrupt themselves once they gain power and the cycle repeats itself. A revolution along the lines of the former would fix the current issues with the government, if it's more like the latter, this country will collapse.

Do Republicans have no diginity or spine at all? This is really becoming the Trump party. Brave of those 7 republican senators to stand up.

Most polling shows the GOP voting base supports Trump over anything else at a 2:1 rate at minimum, and they cannot upset their base.

Also anyone talking about a Communist Revolution needs to read up on the Kurdish people first, because like most things it isn't an inherently bad idea, just one impractical on a nation level, and the Kurdish people are arguably the most communist group of people in the world at the moment.

I’m actually glad my senator was one of those Republicans not afraid to vote guilty. The first trial I could see all of the Republicans being more concerned about losing their jobs but after they saw what his own followers were capable of doing and how far they will listen to the Orange, there really is no excuse. It just proves that the wealthy can do whatever they want and never be punished yet a teacher could be fired for hitting a child by pure accident because the kid suddenly got into the path of a moving hand that was moving to help make a story or lesson even more exciting.

I think a few of them are actually afraid that one of Trump's supporters would try to kill them if they voted against Trump. There was a story after the inauguration that stated Pence and his wife were living house to house because they were afraid someone would try to kill him if he took up permanent residence somewhere. I wonder what the vote would have been if it was done by secret vote instead of everyone knowing who did what. I think there is a chance that they would have convicted him under those circumstances.

Scandinavian nations aren't socialist by definition. There are still private businesses. It's just that their nations just curtail capitalism. It's why many communists and socialists hate them for being just cushy capitalism.

Still a vast improvement over what we have here. A large part of the issue is we're not curtailing capitalism and we've allowed it to infest every facet of government.

Fixed it.

Mandatory teaching of sharing skills at all levels of school should curtail this.
If I could, I would just adopt Japan's model of balancing responsibilities in school:
  1. Kids help prepare food: they peel vegetables, not much
  2. Kids are told to clean schools: If you haven't noticed, Japanese schools are clean because kids are forced the clean them as both punishment and regular duties.
  3. Kids are taught to serve food to others. Lunch ladies don't give you food. The kids fill your bowl.
  4. Students tend to school gardens. Just accept the schools have them and eat out of them.
Essentially, their society reinforces the idea of being a productive member of their society. Sure, their society yields many issues, such as trying to find the balance between group and individual, but it's far better than what's happening in America right now. Hey, their brokest school looked better than mine.

America wouldn't learn because of their exceptionalism, so forget about learning from other countries particularly an Asian one, thanks to covid discriminations. Even in Canada, you have people who shrug about their covid numbers because they claim that at least its better than the US and Europe. They don't really care what the rest of the world does.

While I do think the school system needs a major overhaul (but that's for another topic), and those are good things, I don't think that would entirely fix the problem. Schools can help the problem by teaching kids to recognize and not fall for propaganda, but other than that I don't think it'll help much. The people responsible for pushing this country's hypercapitalism are going to be going to private schools or even receiving tutors at home, and their parents are not going to be inclined to teach them to share and serve society, they're going to teach them that they're better than everyone else and they should hoard as much wealth and power as possible. We need laws and constitutional amendments that close the loopholes they're abusing and overhaul the government to be less corruptible. Lobbying and unlimited campaign contributions need to be made illegal. An independent redistricting organization needs to be formed to prevent gerrymandering. We need term limits not just for presidents, but for representatives and senators. The Electoral College should be overhauled or even done away with altogether so that the winner of the election actually reflects the people's choice and not other politicians' choice. Those are the kinds of changes that are going to curtail the effects of capitalism, the biggest problem is we need to get capitalism out of politics by illegalizing/disincentivizing corporate interests buying competitive advantages that impose their will on the government.

It's a blast to see Texas pleading Biden for help.

LOL is Texas looking to change their friend status to frenemies? Some people or entities only want to play nice when the policies they themselves vouched for backfire in their faces.
