He's (Jim) crowing for cash, like all the politicians *SUDDENLY* angry at their big donors donating.

I can't wait to see what Georgia or any republican thinks its going to do to a company like Coca-Cola. They can call for a boycott of Coke all they want but it will never go no where. If you boycott Coke then you basically calling for a boycott of everyone they do business with. At least in the US, Coca-Cola has contracts with many national restaurant chains as well as movie theaters and amusement parks. Do they really think that people will go to McDonald's to order food and then drive to a gas station or somewhere else to buy a Pepsi just because they said to? Most people don't have time for that. The diehard Trumpies might try it but even Trump himself couldn't last more then 2 days if he even lasted that long.

Coke basically owns Atlanta, along with Home Depot and Ted Turner. It'd be economic suicide to actually harm them, which would induce more protests and ACTUAL riots.

Best part is that Coke and Pepsi play both sides.

There is no politically ethical big soda.

But you'd be surprised how much stupid people will do and how much time and money they have, if they think they're owning somebody who is the enemy. Sports, video games, politics.. all induce this kind of thing.

Fanaticism is a hell of a drug.

Meh. I literally can’t tell the difference between Coke and Pepsi so what is this pointless boycott going to do to me? Absolutely nothing.

IMF's six-month World Economic Outlook has been released, and so far they are extemely optimistic for countries outside of Africa for post-Covid season.

The problem is, with the current pace of vaccination, most of the globe won't finish the process until 2024, even if US is likely to finish up by November.
The map is very different from what I've seen from this link also from IMF: https://www.bbc.com/news/business-51706225 .

Of course, your map is about the current GDP (Nominal) per capita, but I always thought it doesn't an accurate presentation on how rich a country is compared to GDP (Purchasing Power Parity) per capita. The most glaring example is between South Korea and Japan, the former had a lower GDP Nominal per capita than the latter, but in terms of GDP PPP per capita it's the reverse.

Why do I feel the Republicans will still do something stupid anyway. Of course then they will find some way to blame the Democrats and the idiots down there will believe them.

Because it’s Republicans and their followers believe almost anything their leaders say. It’s the blind leading the blind only on a much larger scale. If Trump says that oxygen was made by Democrats, Republicans would believe it and would attempt to suffocate themselves just to make sure the Democrats wouldn’t win.

The statements by those big corporations are just lip flapping, they given millions to the politicians and will do so again. A simple statement is thier way to make things "right" when many people are putting pressure on them. If that turtle does ever remove all money from politics then it would be the only good thing he'd do. He is just mad the corporations are lightly protesting the Republican measures.

There is a clear difference between coke and Pepsi regular formats. Coke is more acidic in taste and Pepsi is sweeter. I prefer coke but both likely have the same amount of sugar... One just hides the sugar taste better.

Gee I wonder why? Lack of transparency and trust from government and health officials will only worsen the pace of vaccination efforts when they try to pass legislation that strips people of their basic freedoms and liberties with COVID-19 Passports. You can't travel unless you get fully vaccinated which I feel is a human rights violation. This is the same crap the U.S. Government pulled right after 9/11 with the tightening of Airport Security.

You do know there are already existing rules in some places where you need to be vaccinated against X thing to go to a place right? This isn’t new, it’s been a thing for decade and decades now.

You’d think more people would go “maybe that’s a smart idea” after a horribly deadly pandemic that was only made worse by lack of restrictions.

If a vaccine passport is what these fools thing The Mark of the Beast is. they should think of what kind of hell on Earth they're living in, and how they got there.

Everybody is the Antichrist and everything is The Mark of the Beast at this point. All for people who think their cries of "Beam me up, God" mean they would be the ones Raptured.

A wealth cap for purported churches at this point. Any more and you're taxed, because you're profiting and politicking like a cult more than doing religious work.

Didn't post this in the previous post, but Virginia finallly abolished death penalty. US still has 7 more states to go at least to decide to abolish it nationwide, but this is still symbolically important.

Gov. Northam hasn't signed the cannabis bill(s) yet though.

(And oil prices returmed to decline because Suez blockade is over.)

This is from two days ago, but Virginia did legalize cannabis. Sales will begin from July 1st.

Now we wait for New Mexico and Connecticut.

Socialist Correaista candidate Andres Arauz lost Ecuador general election's second round to Guillermo Lasso, a conservative banker.

Lasso has no majority in Ecuadorian parliament, so he will likely rule by executive orders.

I know this isn’t really related to US politics but I was wondering why so many people are saying that Prince Philip was a horrible person on places like YouTube? And by extension saying Queen Elizabeth is an awful person as well as the rest of the Royals? I simply said that Prince Philip lived a long life and saw many changes in his lifetime and people were telling me that he was “racist,” and other stuff I can’t recall right now and others were agreeing with these accusations and saying all of the Royals were awful people and that the Queen killed Diana. For those of you who live in the UK, is it common for people to talk about the Royal Family this way? I have no idea how a simply innocent comment about what a long life Prince Philip had lived devolved into this mess.

Over half of UK citizens think that the British Empire was good for the people living in other places, while having an operation to destroy all evidence of their bad actions during the time.

Royalists are just really weird, in that it’s a lot like Trump support but more fancy.

Video is out and it’s basically between second degree murder or manslaughter, depending on how incompetent you think the police are.
