You guys remember when the right spent like 10 solid years bitching about how "cancel culture" (facing social consequences for your shitty opinions and statements), "social media bias" (the fact that conservative and reactionary viewpoints are generally unpopular without algorithmic boosting), and progressivism "taking over academia" (academia working the way it's supposed to... which it historically hasn't) are literally just like in Nineteen Eighty-Four and the left, funded by George Soros, wants to build a Stalinist Russia-esque surveillance state and mind control everyone into eating bugs and living in shipping containers or something?

Orwell was staunchly anti totalitarian and believed you could rebuild trust through dialogue he not only critiqued capitalism but socialism, his own party as well which is something the left seems currently unable to do. and I don't think he would appreciate using his works to turn your political opposition into faceless evil forces who exist only to be crushed.

I saw that Trump is now claiming he’s not afraid of the Epstein files being released because he “never visited the island.” My question is if he has nothing to hide regarding the Files then why was he so opposed and afraid to have them released before to the point he kept making things happen to distract everyone from them being released?

I just find it very suspicious of how obviously afraid he was of those files that he literally shut down the government for over a month and once they finally were released he suddenly claims he isn’t afraid of them and has nothing to hide? He literally warned Charlie Kirk to stop demanding that the Epstein Files be made public and then he conveniently is shot and killed in public under some extremely suspicious coincidences and Trump acts like he didn’t threaten Kirk and the Files being released was delayed and then the government shut down happened when they were about to be released again. My guess is that Trump used those incidents as a distraction to obtain and edit the files to hide his true connections to everything in those files. I’m not theorizing about Kirk being threatened by Trump either. Google Charlie Kirk and the Epstein Files and you’ll find results of Kirk demanding their release two months before his death.

And for Trump to keep demanding that everyone not to talk or ask for the release of those files and now suddenly acting like he isn’t afraid is extremely strange and says he has nothing to hide. Yeah? If you had nothing to hide regarding those files then how come you tried to prevent the public release of those same files for an entire year?
