U.S. Politics: The Biggest Trade in WNBA History

Landslide victory?? He lost the popular vote by 3 million votes. He's the most minor minority President in history, having won by a technicality.

I guess he meant landslide just with RNC taking congress, pres, and supreme court. Even though house, senate, and pres were all minor victories....they all were victories and it's bad.

I don't even see it as a landslide there, seeing as they can't govern in the least.

All the GOP did was retain the house and senate, even though they lost seats in each, and pick up the White House after loosing the Popular vote. It's the culmination of gains they'd been making since the GOP got control of the house in 2010.

The Supreme Court isn't really a gain - Gorsuch only reaffirms the ideological alignment that existed prior to Justice Scalia's death. And they only have that due to Mitch McConnell dirty trick of not even holding a hearing for Merrick Garland. For that reason, Democrats should filibuster Gorsuch.

And now, Trump has the worst favorability rating in history.

Know what a "pyrrhic victory" is?

When asked if people would support their politician if they vote yes on the bill approval dropped by an average of 20 points, with the average person saying they'd vote for almost any other person willing to not affect their insurance like this.

The bill has been pulled. The AHCA is dead.

Along with what was left of Ryan's career.

Depends, we don't know where the sword will fall yet on this one. Either way this was a disaster for the GOP on all sides.

The GOP had to make the choice of whether to appear ignorant and vainglorious, or to appear weak and uncooperative.

They chose the latter option, because at least then the pedestal they're sitting on won't have to travel far when it comes down eventually. Ryan or Trump or McConnell will bear the brunt of that fall in the end though.

McConnell is probably safe if only because it didn't make the senate, so he can always do the plausible deniability thing. Ryan is the most likely fall guy, but either way this will hit Trump at least a little.

Also Trump is probably jumping the gun and already blaming the Democrats and Obama for this.

Trump's credibility has been significantly dented at any rate. He's purported himself as someone who can make and close the best deals no matter what. This bill's failure proves him otherwise.

He folded on the most hotly debated topic in GOP politics, the topic he had the surest shot of succeeding over and bolstering his public image. Will he bail again when tax reform comes up?

Ryan and Trump are going to fight for credit on this one, and Ryan has the headstart since Trump is going on another vacation.

Here's how I see it. Ryan can't do his job.

His job was easy when all he had to do was sit on his tuckus and vote "nay".

Now that he has to govern, he actually has to WORK.

And now he and Trump have proven themselves quitters on top of it.

Not really a bad thing. Anyone want to add up how much the seven year fight against the ACA has cost taxpayers? But their base may disagree.

What did they honestly expect to happen after years of obstruction and the haphazard way they constructed this new farce of a bill? Quite pathetic especially while controlling the presidency and Congress.

Just fix the problems with the ACA, and then at least the GOP can save some face and call it "Trubamacare" or something to claim some (undeserved) credit.

Or just do single payer like the rest of the world does.....well I guess that would be too complicated.

Thrillsville.

Now explain to me how that excuses him associating with kidnappers, which is not only a federal crime, but an act of war.

Even with the house, senate and presidency the republicans can't do ****, which is the best possible revelation from this debacle.
