Uberness of Ash's Pokemon.

ShadowKitsune

Care to Battle?
Ok, taking a reflected Thunderbolt, a Ice Beam and Solarbeam is one thing,

But absorbing a Thunder till both Pikachu and Swellow get "Thunder Armor" is ridiculous.

So discuss here, why the hell 4Kids should feel the need to give the worst character ever even worse nOOb-advantage.

What I mean:

- Pikachu defeats Otoshi's Marowak. With a electric attack. WTF?

- Charizard topples Gary's Blastoise after taking (forget how many) direct Hydro Pumps.

- How the hell does Thunder create armor?

I bet you he could beat any Gym Leader with a caterpie; because 4Kids demands it.

Yes I wonder about that sometimes, but I guess it comes down to the main character has to win with no matter what pokemon they may have.

By this Im asuming u watched that episode like yesterday<.< but really the thunder armor WAS really kinda stupid.....i wanted a more strategec win then just flying towards them then pow there dead

1 thing. 4Kids don't make it. If you want to blame someone blame Nintendo and TVTokyo. But you do have a point. Thunder should have fainted that Swellow. And on the fact of Marowak. You have to remember that Pikachu has been Supercharged how ever many times since episode 5. No matter how immune ground types are if they aren't on the ground the electricity will still work and a charge of huge power would still shock them.

The rest I can take. Heck, even Swellow can stand extremely powerful Thunders, so let Charizard take a million Hydro Pumps in the tail and still not die. But a Thunder Armor is just plain STUPID.

ya think. really i mean the main charachter has to lose sometimes. and he has. but only when it counts. wonder if he will lose to may.

Yeah Baby!
Well it's not as stupid as Pikachu flipping a Milotic over it's head into the water just to use thunder

This thread definitely merits a mention of the end-all proof that Pokemon anime logic has been, and always will be messed up:

"PIKACHU! AIM 4 T3H HORN!!1!"

Care to Battle?
Lol.

And he beat Rhydon with that move, too.

I guess Ash's Pokemon don't apply to type weaknesses.

ya think. and ash has beaten so many people don't you think he would have a lv. 100 pika by now? but no. he has to train lots of pokes to lv. 50 and dump them. a lv 100 pika could have eaisily beaten juan. lol

Anime Style Battling, think about it. My Cacnea beat a Sceptile before, and the ref was an A-grade.

Lizardon took advantage of Kamex's blind spots. Quit your whining.

Pikachu and Oosubame were not wearing any kind of "armor." Pikachu's electricity was simply flowing around their bodies. Unfortunately, the animation makes this look different. :| The electricity flowed around their bodies, hence why they were able to blow through Lunaton's and Solrock's Reflect and Light Screen.

As for the ol "AIM FOR THE HORN," you people STILL don't learn, do you? This was BEFORE the Lightning Rod ability came about. And if you did a little RESEARCH, you'd know the rhinos (which Saidon is based off of) have horns that are made of THICK HAIR, not bone. Obviously in the case of Saidon, its body wouldn't be made of the same material as its horn, either. Thus making it a perfect target. Same way as blasting it with electricity while inside its mouth.

Funny. I don't recall Satoshi crying when he lost to Yanagi, or Senri, or Genji, or Testuya, or Kikuko, or Lila, or Jindai. In fact, he didn't cry when tying with Jun'ichi, lost to Hazuki, or Shuu. Your arguments are FAILURE.

Leaving SPPF! G'bye!
Defeated brocks Onix with an electric attack?!
Defeated three pokemons with just string shot?!
Its CRAZY!
I wonder how many kids that tried to win battles with just string shot, and that tried to defeat brock with a well-trained pikachu with only elecric moves.

Bring this to anime discussion. We'll all rip your logic apart anyway though

With even less logic?

Yeahhhhhhhh anime logic is arbitrary, so you can pretty much give whatever reasoning you want and say that it's an acceptable answer. The Pokemon cartoon is based off a video game where certain rules (such as type match ups) dictate how battles are played. We expect the anime to be different, but when stuff like the "Thunder Armor" or "AIM FOR T3H HORN!1" happen, you know it's getting kind of ridiculous. The writers seem to adhere to certain rules some of the time, but then completely throw them out at other times for the sake of making one character look stronger or weaker rather than simply sticking to a train of logic. Double Battles can get especially silly in the anime.

Scuffle of Legends
yah in the very first pokemon movie ash's pikachu kills a golem with what looks like thunder.
Also, if ash wants to be a pokemon master, why does he see a whole crap load of wild pokemon and is like "Gee Brock, its kind of werid how your in your 20s and your spending all of your time with us 10 year olds. And little Maxx is still younger than us! ANd why havent we aged after 10 years of pokemon?" instead of catching them. And hes seen how many rare pokemon? Oh thats right...ALL OF THEM!
