Ubers vs JAA

Wow on a serious note though, looks like there isnt any other choice besides using a full uber team if you wanna go and compete JAA, cause i mean once you get to around the semi-finals those guys sure know how to use those ubers.

Thats not entierly true. A team of "underused" Pokemon can take on a team of "Ubers" if used properly. I have seen it done, and have actually done it a few times myself. I personally hope that those un-imaginative "Uber" teams do not make it to the finals. I would be entering myself but I do not train my Pokemon to lv 100, and sadly Nintendo didn't place a lv cap like they did for Pokemon Rocks America. :(

Trainer Rachel

Let's do it!
"Normal" Pokemon can beat ubers, such as if they're EV trained and have good IVs, but if you come across an uber that's EV trained and has good IVs (and assuming the trainer knows what theyre doing) it doesn't look very good....

Yea seriously i have seen it done aswell but im referring to generally the 13+ and when you got one of those guys that are 28 and play the game everyday and use all IV/EVed Ubers a set of perfect IV/EVed Normal pokes dont have a snowball chance in hell it seems you need 4/5 out of your team to be uber to even stand a chance.

I see your point. I beat a team of Uber's using a curselax. I cursed to death, Chesto rested, and returned to death.

leftovers >>>>>> chesto on curselax. and on pretty much anything else, too. any special wall likes to laugh at uber teams.

Tough luck if the trainers know what they are doing, the best I can think of to counter ubers are special walls or maybe even salamence and the like.

Assuming the people use only ubers and do so unintelligently, all one needs to do is get a Ninjask. Then Sub and Dance and BP to Breloom. Then Spore and Sub and Punch.

The end.

They may have better stats, but one or two super effective blows and they go down.

ubers tend to have common weaknesses. EG. Rayquaza, Groudon, Kyogre, Mewtwo, Ho-oh, Lugia, Deoxys, Jirachi

Rayquaza, kyogre, groudon, lugia, ho-oh, can all be KOed in two or less turns with starmie.

mewtwo, jirachi and deoxys will be tougher, but I have OHKOed Mewtwo before with Heracross, jirachi can be KOed with a Metagross in two turns with EQ, Deoxys is quite hard if it has Choice band and is FR deoxys, but other than that, deoxys is OHKOed by Heracross.

So good pokemon would be starmie, heracross, some 600 base, and maybe ninjask. I still don't really know how to use ninjask though. That sub of yours ~bent~ will be wacked straight up, Unless you have something like bright powder attached but that relies on luck

Seriously though a Mewtwo with Pushing 600 speacial attack and a good speed to match, is hard to beat by any normal means though.

Usually, it'd be the little kids that use full teams of ubers, but they don't know how to use them correctly and end up having their Mewtwo have three STABed attacks without Clam Mind and a Hyperbeam.

Jibaku
Smeargle, Jynx (must be used with Smeargle to get full potential, but Lovely Kiss isn't needed), Selfdestruct Snorlax, Ludicolo, Kingdra, Exeggutor, Shiftry, Clefable and Dusclops are great non-uber options in the JAA. And the JAA is mostly about Exploding/Weather/Protect from what I've seen

The only thing I have to complain about JAA is that they are allowing lv 100. :( I wish they would do it like they did Pokemon Rocks America and allow lv 50s to battle in their own tournament. :( I only train lv 50s and I cannot enter because I will have nio chance to win.

wah, ubers are nothing. Normal Pokemons always win

always?

I have won with a team of ubers so it can't be always...

The topic poster is pretty much right... which is a shame...

They should have taken out all ubers... with the current rules they took out the suckiest of the uber bunch (IMO) (jirachi and celebi)

starmie used thunderbolt! (34 - 40%)
kyogre used thunder! (119 - 140%)
starmie fainted!

starmie used thunderbolt! (23 - 27%)
lugia used thunderbolt (56 - 66%)
repeat. starmie fainted!

starmie used surf! (41 - 48%)
(CB) ho-oh used shadow ball! (127 - 149%)
starmie dies a horrible death!

mewtwo used psychic! (117 - 138%)
heracross faints before even doing anything!

jirachi/deoxys used SWITCH! or deoxys simply OHKOs hera with psychic/psycho boost/whatever.

^Were the levels the same? Did he know about EV training and natures? Was it a legit battle?

Curselax is one of the best Uber counters, along with blissy. High HP with higher Sp. Def=pawnage. Poor ubers have to be mostly special.
