UltraSun and UltraMoon effect on the anime

I think they're just redesigned Aether Scientist outfits myself. Or perhaps they're suits that let you survive longer in Ultra Space that belong to the Aether Admins. Team Skull was supposed to be lame in the first place.

That's what makes them so cool.
They're not as bland and generic villains like Lysandre was. And what the Anime did to Ghetsis. They're sympathetic villains, especially Guzma.

Given that Matsurika's confirmed to receive her own trial in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, I'm really hoping that Satoshi will visit Poni Island in the coming months, or at the very least that Matsurika herself will visit the school on Melemele Island and conduct the trial there.

theory time:

In Thursday's episode; Kukui clearly said that he wants to establish the league and Samson said he wants to design the badges. I don't why they would say that if it wasn't that important in anime.So, I was thinking; Let Ash finish remaining two Island challenges with Hapu and Nanu. After that, he should get 4 badges in order to participate in the league.Those 4 badges will be located in new 4 islands( maybe some will be in US/UM, some anime exclusive)But, Ash will still battle Totem Pokemon even if he's on same island as badge is.
So, November/December 2017=Ula Ula arc( Sophocles's Charja evolves into Vikavolt( and Sophocles puts armor on his) there and he gets 10 million Volts Z move but learns it's Pikachu exclusive move and he and Ash make a trade), Ash beats Mimikyu/Gengar and Haunter Totem and gets Ghost Z move. Ash beats Nanu and gets Dark Z move.

April-May 2018: Poni island arc.Ash beats Kommo-o gets Dragon Z move and beats Haou and gets Ground Z move.
by this time Kukui said he established 4 gyms in 4 islands and he's in process of making the league.
August-September 2018 new island arc, Ash beats ??? Totem and gets Firium Z( for his Incineroar , Charizard and rest of Fire Pokemon), Ilima is first gym leader.
November-December 2018: new island arc, Ash beats ??? Totem and gets Waterium Z( for his water Pokemon especially Greninja if he returns to battle UBs) Mina is second gym leader
March-April 2019: Ash beats ??? Totem on new island and gets Fight Z move from Totem Pokemon. Some guy is gym leader.
June-July 2019: final island: Ash gets final Z crystal. Some guy is also gym leader and gets final badge.
August-September 2019: Alola league.
October goodbyes, Pallet episode.

Or she could not.
Ilima never did appear. And it's not clear if Acerola will appear yet. Only ones that will appear for certain are the Kahunas, whoever they are.... hopefully they stick to using the ones that benefit Ash's team and don't just replace Nanu with an Ultra one just because.
I wouldn't get my hopes up on her appearing.

Nanu is important to the UB plot even without being the Kahuna, I don't think the anime is just going to leave him out even if he's replaced as Kahuna in USM.

Ash has never ever ever faced off against a Dark specialist. It's ridiculous

I just hope they use Plumeria and Guzma.... we really need to see more of Team Skull. There are more than just those three grunts we've seen, thanks to that one flashback showing it... but those three haven't even showed up since Gladion's debut. I'd love for them to return with Plumeria to fight the TRio over Totem Salazzle's Poisonium.

Also, it turns out the new guys--the Ultra Recon Sqaud--aren't bad guys after all. They just have cool outfits.

Well, I suppose the latest game trailer pretty much confirms that USUM won't be an exact rehash of SM. My guess is that the events of USUM will play out the same as or similarly to the events of SM, until Necrozma and/or the Ultra Recon Squad is introduced.

This does have me wondering if Lusamine and the Aether Foundation will still be the Big Bad of the anime, or if the Ultra Recon Squad will take their place. To be honest, I'll be rather disappointed if the anime completely turns Lusamine into a good guy, with no traces of villainy whatsoever. I'm hoping she at least starts out as a villain, even if she turns to the good side later on.

Also, Ash and his friends had better visit that Ultra City.

Adhesive could be another candidate if Ash catches an Ultra Beast. It, Pheromosa, and Buzzwole are the only ones that look like actual Pokemon.

You all just won't give that up will you? Why do you want the main villain being the same character again instead of somebody new? Worried Lillie will lose her focus?

The Ultra Recon squad aren't going to be villains (or, if they are, they're working for Aether). Since Necrozma stole all the light from the Ultra Space city, I wonder if this also means we'll have an actual, evil Pokemon.

But we've had actual evil Pokemon in the anime before. Just recently with the Malamar and Alolan Persian.
