Um...are any of the comics here hand drawn? O_o

I'm sorry, I'm not sure if this counts as spam or not (fi so I'm sorry and please go ahead and lock) but so far ALL I've seen are sprite comics or comics with cutouts from the anime with speech bubbles. I just find it surprising how many talented artists there are (according to the fan art section) and (to my knowledge) there is no hand drawn comics o_O.

I am planning to do one as soon as I can come up with a plot...(*cough* any good writers here o_O)

Well I'm a pretty good artist (not being cocky or anything just what I always hear :p) but when it comes to writing I really suck, I was thinking of doing my own version of the R/B/Y storyline they way I played it (what I caught how I trained when I faced who etc) but it seems like no one would read it.

Sora and myself sometimes draw our comics.

Ah, reminds me I need to make a few new eppys when I don't feel so lazy. I promised myself that I wouldn't make any new eppys until I got better at drawing 'em.

Anyway, just think of something orginal or something that hasn't been used much. Sora empathizes pokémorphs and injustice, I empathize utter randomness, and Ace empathizes a perverted Abra. With drawing you are unlimited in what you can do in a comic.

Edit: Perchance, could I get a glimpse at your work?

Where? *looks around in a psychotic way*

Well, there is Ace of Abra, like most other mentioned. Infinity and Sora also have hand-drawn comics, again like mentioned. There used to be "Meet the Orrelocks" by Cousin Woofer. Dunno where it is now. There are also a bunch of other hand-drawn comics. Again I dunno where they are now. There usually are about one or two hand-drawn comics on the first or second page.

Edit: A plot about a journey in the Kanto region? I would say "All the things that don't make sence", but I'm already doing that. :D Something that is also usually fun is a random Nintendo (2-D) character that somehow gets into the Pokémon world, but that could also be boring. Just whatever you do, don't make a plain old journey comic. Especially not exactly in the same way as you did went through the games or as it goes in the anime, except like I do it off course.

I'm gonna force my troop of Pokemon comic artists(there are two more to arrive on my hoster's website) to sign up and advertise.

Sora and Infinity have been around for a lot longer than me. There stuff's pretty good too, so if you get a chance go check out their work...and err...mine. =D

Where's the Anime cut out comics? I'd like to see one actually and see what's going on.

I can draw real good for my age, and I was planning on my first comic being a drawn one about a kid who has the powers of sonic the hedgehog (but I drew that comic a year ago) and I was going to scan it on, but when I scan stuff the pictures are bihugic like 6000x4000 so...my comic is Pokemon GX

See I'm really itching to draw a pokemon comic, one that will have readers BEGGING me to update etc. But it seems everything has been done! By the way, do the comics here have to be SOLEY pokemon comics? Or can they have a diffrent plot yet feature pokemon in them (like at one point in the plot) Meh, I really need to be more creative

To answer your last question, they certainly can! My own comic's a perfect example, though it's sprited. I think you can certainly do a good job- there's a severe shortage of hand-drawn comics with Pokemon in them.

Actually, comics can be about whatever they want. They could be about Pokemon, but you don't really have to base them on Pokemon.

However, since there are so many Pokemon comics around here nowadays and almost no comics based on other series (other series comics tend to die out quickly for some reason, only a handful tend to survive through their first month, and even fewer have huge popularity...), it seems like only Pokemon comics are allowed. That is not true in any way, so just go out and make your comic about whatever you want. The possibilities are endless.

The only exception to this rule that I can think of are comics with adult themes like sex and such that are 'fully expressed' in the comic itself (I think just talking about these kinds of things in the comic is fine, but actually trying to draw the action...). But even then, it's common sense to not do that nowadays, especially on a Pokemon forum.

You're not the only one who wants to start a comic but can't find any ideas or have the ideas but can't start one due to other restrictions. I've been thinking about making a hand-drawin comic as well, but I can't really make a comic for the time being, seeing as many other things are keeping me occupied.

All I have to say is this: Good luck with your work.

Thank you all you are very helpful! Okay now that I have that info it is time to sit and think of a plot o_O

That takes a while. It's rather annoying as well.

And just a note to all aspiring comic artists, you dont need a tablet to be good, stfu
You don't need any expensive programs either. I wuv Inkscape and GIMP.

Sora takes only a couple hours to do any of her stuff at maximum... My method takes at least a good five hours. I spend much of that time just refining the lines, I demand absolute near perfection in my linework at least. I use some art pencils for the light outline and mechanical pencils to darken the outline for the scan. You don't need fancy markers to spiffy it up.

I just draw my comics on paper, ink them, scan and then colour them. The computer work takes roughly...1 and a half hours. And that's if I'm being distracted by forums and MSN convos.

Well, I like your comic, AA. It is very, very good. The only problem is I have to make sure to go back here before I log off so that if my parents check, they don't see...well, your abra. ^^; I like it, they wouldn't. XD
