Umbreon Help

Deoxys Prime

Time will tell.
I've got an Umbreon, ready to be EV trained, but I'm not sure of the EV spread, I forget his nature, but these are the spreads I came up with...

252 HP, 172 Def, 84 SDef

OR

252 Def, 252 SDef, 6 HP

OR

60 SAtt, 100 HP, 148 SDef, 202 Def

Those are a few of the spreads I thought up.

Is this a good moveset?
Faint Attack
Toxic
Confuse Ray
Substitute

Thanks for looking.

i don't know exact numbers, but max HP and don't bother with the attack/speed stats.

umbreon @ leftovers
substitute/mean look
curse
baton pass
shadow ball/wish

pass curses/HP to something. shadow ball if you want to be able to attack with it. if you don't use SB, make sure it's never the last poke on your team.

Uh, no. Umbreon should never use an Attack move unless you're worried that it'll be the last Pokémon on your Team(and it shouldn't, if you play it right). Use WW's set, IMO, that's how you should use Umbreon, even though it's completely pointless InGame.

How about this:

252 HP, 192 Speed, 64 SDef
Moonlight
Substitute
Curse
Baton Pass

Is this any good? Even though I have no wishpass?

[15:58] Anatoniel: Okay... I found the moveset for my umbreon
[15:58] Ri: mm?
[16:00] Anatoniel: Espeon's only good stats are special attack, and speed - so it should take advantage of that, right?

Well, umbreon's only good stats are defence and special defence (found out it has poor attacks of all kinds) - so it's a purely defensive critter...
[16:01] Ri: xd
[16:02] Anatoniel: So... As it can take -many- hits and still live, but can't hit for stuff...

Bite (in case trouble)
Toxic
Confuse Ray
Moonlight (for when you get low on hp)

... Umbreon is a perfect "time killer", with bite just in case it runs into a steel pokemon, or in case it needs to make another move (is fully healed, and doesn't want to waste another toxic or confuse ray on a confused pokemon with toxic in it's blood)
[16:02] Ri: That...hrm...
[16:02] Anatoniel: That's (as far as I can tell) the only really effective way to use it...
[16:03] Anatoniel: Another alternative, is to replace moonlight with mean look - you can't heal, but your foe can't escape.
[16:03] Anatoniel: And/Or replace bite with faint attack... it doesn't cause flinching, but it'd be prefect against fast pokemon that use double team or sand-attack... as faint attack hits guaranteed.
[16:04] Ri: *nod*

why would you put speed on a) something with curse, or b) UMBREON? put those EVs into defense, instead. and why would you want to use moonlight over wish?

EDIT: turner, your set is useless against steel- or poison-type pokemon, or anything with rest and most things with aromatherapy. use the set i posted.

haha, didn't notice the Evs.
EVs: 252 HP / 148 Def / 108 SDef @ Bold ftw.

But Umbreon is very shitty in-game.
