do u think people make a big deal over umbreon? it isn't even that good of a dark type in XD cuz the eevee knows bite when u get it and a good dark type is the hondoom that u snag from resix early in the game. i chose espeon cuz with bite and it's awesome special and speed stats it can kill almost everything with a special attack.

Umbreon is not overrated, its just useless ingame, its poin is to baton pass mean looks and other stuff, but since the AI is too stupid to switch. You dont need it.

Yep, there's not point to it InGame. It's really meant to be used for Netbattle and that crap.

It also good for taking strong hit which can be useful catching shadow pokemon.

Umbreon has good defenses and mediocre, but not bad, attack strength to back it up, so it is not bad ingame. People exaggerate. I think you should really consider teaching him Toxic, Confuse Ray, or Moonlight, to back them up. I'm able to get my Umbreon to do a lot of stuff, so he's not useless.

Also I think, but not sure, that I will teach him this moveset...

Toxic
Moonight.

But he's not better than any of the other Eeveelutions. I like him and Espeon almost equally.

Umbreon hardly has the stats to pull off a single attacking move. That's the point of both Shinobi and I in saying that it's pretty much useless InGame, unless passing stuff is something you do InGame.

That is your veiw but I will stay with Umbreon and as what psychic politoed said in a way it depend on how you use him all you are saying that Eevee know bite there are other move to teach him you know.

here my Umbreon's move set:
Shadow ball- to lower the sp defense so bite does more damage.
Bite- good and can cause flinching stop psychic pokemon from recovering.
Quick attack- a quick attack to distory the foe.
Secret power- a another good attack which change by location.

Also Umbreon is the only dark pokemon that has synchronize.

But I think that you just don't like Umbreon because you can't use him in the right way and so you are lashing out on to him.

In other words, attacking Umbreon sucks. You can try, but success won't happen. If anything, try what Shinobi suggested.

i dont believe it is overrated at all

I dislike non-attacking movesets, with exceptions of Shuckle, who really is bad at offensive.
I think Toxic is a good defensive move for Umbreon to know, so you could consider that.

What if you don't use Houndour? And with that logic, then all of the Eeveelutions are pointless.

Well, I guess you should stick with Eevee, but wait! What about Teddiursa? Well, I guess that leaves us the choice of not even getting Eevee in the first place. When ever that guy gives you the Eevee from your father, just say NO!

Toxic blows, and if you replace Taunt with Toxic. You can easily get Roared,Whirlwind, etc.

Wither your opponents HP while you stay healthy. I wouldn't thank so. It can also help if the opponent puts a status condition on you, and it gets Sycronized, messing up your plans. And attack slightly under 70, it's not like its 30. Come on, you people are EXEGGERATING!

If you're going to use Umbreon against something of intelligence, which the general A.I. in Pokemon RPGs doesn't fit under, then 65 base Atk. isn't great.

iirc Umbreon with max attack evs bite only does 52% to Espeon (3hko with leftovers)

Umbreon isn't that great ingame even if it looks quite slick. Then again, I didn't like the Espeon I selected much better.

I would have gone with Vaporeon if it could learn a decent Water move in the game. :[
