Uninstalling Windows Vista

I just upgraded to Windows Vista Home Premium on my computer that previously ran Windows XP Home Edition and I'm having troubles with my computer. For starters, some programs won't work, and it's as slow as Hell. Is it possible?

So what license are you talking about? Also, do I have to either reformat my hard drive, or uninstall and then reinstall my hard drive?

I still can't reinstall XP.
