Chapter 1
Moving onwards.

Moving closer together

I held her once. Only once. On the night of my pokemon league challenge.

Agatha was still champion then, yes, Agatha was a champion. The night was all about me. A still wind, like a calm Silver Wind from a Beautifly flew threw my hair. And her arm was around mine, hooking together.

"Come down here Dragonite!"

The large orange dragon flew down, its small wings still flapping, a confused look in its eyes. She laughed, she loved dragons. Especially Dragonite.

"Ready Dragonite! Let's do this!"

The Puff wannabe dragon let out a powerful cry and shot back into the sky, the stadium was filled with cheering. I told her to go, only for this last battle, and I would never let her go.

Agatha was not too old back then, a touch of her once blonde hair lingered but was overshadowed by all the grey. Her first pokemon, a Gengar. Good.

Dragonite shown like never before, moving like a jet. Speed, good. Agatha was much faster, Gengar had put Dragonite to sleep, and began to use Dream Eater. I looked to her, she was cheering. Dragonite woke up, suddenly, and I told it to use Outrage. Gengar couldn't take a hit that strong, and fainted soon after.

She was shining more than me, beautiful smile, hair the color of apples when they're just right to eat.

Agatha was not easily beaten, her next pokemon was a powerful Yonowaaru. But my mind was off the battle. Her eyes stared into my soul.

Dragonite was still in its outrage and attacked Yonowaaru head on. Agatha had chosen that pokemon for a certain reason, to stall out my dragon.

"Will-O-Wisp!"

Shots of blue fire were sent hurling at Dragonite, it was burned. Dragonite made contact, to no avail. Yonowaaru's defenses were too strong.

"Now Yonowaaru! Use Ice Punch!"

The ghostly cyclops raised its huge hand, and a blue sheet of icey energy began to form around it. It made contact with Dragonite, and Lance's orange friend was sent flying.

Lance used Kingdra next, a stable choice for sure. I looked to my side, she was there, crying about my Dragonite's fate.

"Rain Dance!"

Kingdra began to move in a circle, and the rain began to pour down. Yonowaaru was preparing something. Lance had a feeling.

Agatha, somehow her fading youth returned in battle, screamed, "Now Yonowaaru! Use Taunt!"

She looked worried for Lance. Dragonite, his best pokemon, was gone. What was he going to do? His Kingdra looked agitated at his opponents gesture, and headed straight at him. Yonowaaru took that full body tackle, it was weird how the behemoth began to tire out.

"Pain Split, Yonowaaru."

Lance stared, Pain Split, that was deadly. Now what else can this girl bring? Yonowaaru began to heal itself, while Kingdra was in desperate pain.

"He's weak! Thunderpunch!"

Come one Kingdra, you can do this
The sea horse responded to its trainer's wishes, got up and used Hydro Pump. Yonowaaru took the hit and used thunderpunch. Kingdra took a direct hit.

"Come on Lance! I know you can do it!"

I looked at her once again, I had this faith in myself now, that I would do better. Lets see if Agatha can defeat this pokemon.

"Go Charizard!"

The fiery dragon took the field, red body and wings widespread. He looked powerful and was powerful. Being Lance's starter pokemon, it held special place in his heart. Also because it had been raised alongside her Bulbasaur.

Yonowaaru could not take another hit, after that Hydro Pump from Kingdra and went flying.
But the rest of the battle was a blur to Lance, her voice, her face, and her whole being was all he could remember. And, the incident.

Agatha was on the run, resorting to her Mumajjii to defeat Lance and his Aerodactyl. Mumajii threw a powerful Shadow Ball at Aerodactyl. Aerodactyl dodged it, and the ball went straight for the pole lights around the arena. The Pole was unstable, and leaning towards her. Aerodactyl went in and used a powerful rock slide and earthquake combination to finish Agatha and win the championship for Lance. But the earthquake made the already unstable pole fall down. The pole came crashing down.

Lance made a dive to save her, but to no avail. The pole came, and it left. But it was the end of the road for her. The pole landed on her head, by some twist of cruel fate, and her skull was bashed in. Lance picked up the damned pole off, his hands beginning to soak with blood. This can't be happening

Lance woke up, this was one of his common nightmares. The last night I ever saw her Lance told himself everyday, that he would forget how his battle, his championship, killed the woman he loved.

But Lance couldn't remember her name anymore. He had forgotten everything about her, only her death resonated in his mind. Her personality and everything did not exist in his mind. Only the way she looked that night, and the way she looked when the pole came crashing down on her head.

"Dragonite?"

His orange companion was especially caring when it came to his nightmares. The dragon showed its sympathy, and made an attempt to cheer Lance up. He did not keep it in it's pokeball, he liked it out to be with him.

"I'm okay Dragonite, just get some rest for tommorow. You don't want Salamence to out do you."

Dragonite responded jealously, she had a competition between herself and the Salamence on Lance's team. Pokemon are seemingly humans but not. They feel all that we do, love, fear, jealously, and hate but come with more power. Pokemon do no abuse this power, but rather embrace it.

"Go to Sleep Dragonite"

And the two went to bed. Or Sleeping Bag.

The next day was much more interesting, Dragonite was walking beside Lance, and the two basked in the nature of their surroundings. It was calming, at the least.

Lance looked at Dragonite, and the Orange Beast looked at him. Maybe they weren't that unlucky at all.

And she looked at him, her Lance, and that same Orange Beast with the same smile that she used to give him when she was human. I'll never leave you Lance, never.
