Directed by Ghost in the Shell creator Kouichi Mashimo, Toonami brings you its first original series, IGPX.
--------------------------------
Did you know?
The original pilot aired as a five-part micro-series on Cartoon Network in September 2003. Each part was only five minutes long and aired during Cartoon Network's weekday afternoon Toonami block.

See for yourself: http://www.tv.com/immortal-grand-prix/show/21316/episode_listings.html
--------------------------------
Did you also know?
Tom Kenny, the man of many voices, especially Spongebob. ( The proof is here: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?id=14309 ) finally has a VA job in an anime and in this show, he does the voice of the race announcer Benjamin Bright in the English dub.

"Sparks will fly!"
--------------------------------
Anyways, this is a place where we discuss almost anything about the show.

If there is already a thread like this, please tell me.

Well, there was a thread for the first two episodes that aired the previous week, but no one made a thread for this week. I think it's better to just keep it in one discussion thread, anyway.

Well, I was a little less sleepy this time around, so I payed a considerable amount of attention. No, I'm not being sarcastic. Anyway, I have to say, I was quite disappointed with one point of this episode. The point of it was about how Team Satomi had to find a new sponsor(s), one(s) that would let them keep their name. And in the end of the episode, when the team won the race, the lady that seems to be in charge just said plainly (paraphrased): "We've just gotten some new sponsors, and we can keep our name!" Okay, I admit, that was a very rough translation, but you get the point. They sort of ripped us off with that. :/

Bleah, whatever. I'm still going to watch and see how they make the races more interesting, anyway.

Episode yesterday was ok but wasn't the best. next episode looks to be interesting.

I missed the first episode and the first half of the second, so I might be a bit confused.

Can that white girl's cat talk?
I can't believe they let cats in racing vehicles in the future. LOL.

yea, that damn cat can talk. Technically it more of a telepathy communication kind of thing. She did it in the original 5 episode mirco series too.

oh and the girl's name is Amy Stapleton. cute little girl :)

Yes Amy is very cute, so much that I applied for her to be my new Bishie.

I like how this episode seems to be come the building block to intense the plot of the series. Next episode seems to be a really serious and interesting episode.

Again Amy cute. Nice to find out her background

I love the old Toonami music! The first song of yesterday's eppy and the credits were both old Toonami songs. It feels like classic Toonami again.

Also, 'The Ghost' got a TVPG rating. So we could be seeing some blood and damns in the near future! Yeah!

Anyways, good episode. I hate the cliffhanger ending though...

Was it PG? I didn't notice. (Edit: I'm not being sarcastic, even though it may sound like it)

Well, I didn't sleep a bit this episode. It was actually a bit interesting. The races still aren't a big deal to me, but it was kinda interesting. And the animation is definately top-notch.

Meh... let's see what happens next week.

I watched the first episode of the series that came with my Nintendo Power. Does anyone know which episode is going to air this Saturday? It looks interesting.

How old are they supposed to be? I just can't figure it out! BEcause Amy graduated college when she was 7... but she could be like eleven years old to like eighteen... and how old is River Marque? I could see him being like fifteen to like twenty-seven... so... and like how old are Takeshi Jin and Liz Ricarro? AHHHH! sorry... and the next episode is called "Come Together"

I also wonder how old they are. o.o

Can't wait for tonight's episode...though I already forgot what happened last epsisode. o_O

I believe Takashi is 17. I think they said that soem where on an offical site. Amy i'm guessing 15, as for Liz and Rivera, probably 17 for Liz and 18 for Rivera.

But... River called Amy "kiddo"... but... so does my best (guy) friend Keu.... AHHHH! AHHHH! *giggle, giggle* I have all the episodes on tape and I keep watching the part where it's like Jesse's bandaging Rivers hurt hand for him:

River: I'm never gonna forgive Takeshi. He played me.

Jesse: You know he didn't mean it.

River: C'mon, don't be fooled by that little visade he puts on.

Jesse: what do you mean?

River: I mean he's only in this for himself... Anyway, what's up this weekend? wanna catch a movie? (SQUEEEEEELLLLLS)

Jesse: Guess you're all better now, huh River? *Slaps River's injured hand.

River: OWWWWWWWWWWHUH

XD that is just so cute

Best. Part. Ever.

Bah, I missed half of today's episode, I didn't realize what time it was. ^^;; And just for a heads up(and so I'll remember), the next episode is "Cat vs. Dog".

As usual, last night's episode had great animation. But the story, meh...

To tell you the truth, I like how the characters interact and all that. The story is great... outside of the races. Those races really need more detail, IMO.
