Unpopular Gaming Opinions

Bandai Namco are nothing but anime-game, anime-fighting game, fighting game and SAO simps and they refuse to throw their support behind their actually good franchises like Digimon, Klonoa, and .hack. I'm sorry but I just don't see the point in anime games or anime-fighting games. I'd rather just watch the anime. Most of them have failed and gotten bad to mixed reviews anyway. Before you scream at me I'm very well aware of the fighting game community and that fighting games have their own fans. But that series is over-saturated. End of story. But this **** is all Bandai Namco wants to do. They also want to do nothing but be apart of Kirito's harem and simp for him and his franchise when .hack is infinitely better. The result is the same. Nothing but mid to outright **** and dumpster fire games. But that's all they want to do. Instead of actively trying to kill Digimon, Klonoa and .hack why not sell them or give them to people who actually care about them and give them the respect they deserve? No? You'd rather kill them for good? Then go **** yourselves Bandai Namco. I'll dance on your grave if/when you implode.

What? You said controversial and I gave you controversial. I don't know what else you were expecting.

Tekken games really fell off a cliff with difficulty spikes for each final boss even on easy in arcade mode. The worst of them would be Azazel

(i never tested Tekken 7 arcade) and i haven't bother getting into finishing Tekken 8 (i've heard the last segments of Jin and Kazuya in story has "many many" separate rounds. and the games has a secret Kazuya ending but only if you lose on the right round.

Games weren't inherently better when you were younger. In fact, they were probably worse. The difference is that you were a kid. Now you're old and jaded. Disregarding all modern games on the basis of their release date is moronic. While it's true that there are many games now that have no respect for your time by shepherding you toward microtransactions, many old games also had no respect for your time either. They were not interested in you having a chance to build the skills to let you succeed. The difference is that you had more leisure time as a kid.

Mega Man Battle Network 4 is alright. It introduced some cool mechanics such as the souls.
To be fair though, there are some typographical errors, and some of the worst glitches are in the game.
Other than that, it's fine. The difficulty increase to collect everything is a bit mixed on me.
You know, I actually played it again a couple months ago and while it feels a bit awkward in a few areas due to the three-playthrough structure inducing weird scaling and there's a major issue with most of the library not hitting where there's no ground (Circle Gun doesn't work on Duo. What.), BN4 is an okay game. But in this day and age on the internet, that dog won't hunt, monsignor. Also I think its reputation was ruined in part by a certain LP.

I agree! Nostalgia often makes us embellish things. But as we get older, we become more critical and demanding of everything, including games. We pay more attention to quality.

I think people jump way too fast to the “you were just a kid!” argument. Not saying there’s no truth to that but it feels too dismissive of a rebuttal for me to accept in full confidence without sounding condescending. There are games that resonated with my generation that I didn’t touch until later on in my life that still hit me the same. What’s the excuse then? There’s nuance to this discussion besides “old good, new bad” and the inverse.

Might as well be killed for this but...

I personally found Kingdom Hearts and Undertale to be overrated. The later does have some interesting gameplay ideas but other than that, they don't sound much entincing to me at all.

People for months begged for stupid offline multiplayer for Dragon Ball Sparking Zero even though it's outdated and no longer the early 2000s. They finally get that but now they're crying for GT and Movie characters, there's been dozens of game in the past that featured both but since there's been no trailer to come out for them people complain. They want Z Broly even though the original voice actor for the character isn't coming back to voice him and there's already a Broly character in the game. They claim there will be GT and Movie characters in the base roster despite there being zero trailers for them and the game comes out this October, if they aren't revealed in September then your best bet is DLC. People just haven't figured out that this game is being centered around Super with Z and possibly others taking a backseat.

Reddish Gold is Princess Princess ugly and waste of pixels

I hate Playstation Plus subscriptions for online games when it was free (PS3 had free online play for call of duty and other games for years)
Now every literally playstation multiplayer game needs some form a subscription and i haven't renewed one for almost 2 years after the price increase.

PSA grading old games is a disgusting form of resell greed along with supply vs demand

Speedruns are overrated
