"Customers love being aggressively greeted by every employee they encounter" is the worst corporate trueism of the century.

Employees hate it, customers hate it, but middle managers with Very Serious Degrees in Scientific Fields like "business" and marketing love it
Word. Was at a job once where they wanted employees to smile all the time. It was so phoney that it made me cringe.

Kanto is love. Kanto is life.
I'm getting very tired of the fact that nobody seems to want to enjoy things anymore. Movies, games, tv shows etc come out and all people do it rant and nit pick it. Saying it's bad, should have done this etc. People should at least try to enjoy it for what it is and if they don't like just find something they do, instead off just be a downer.
People can still criticize something if they don't like it. I enjoy movies and games, but if they lack something I can say what they lack..

"Orange" Magical Girl
I...have a few but mainly on Fire Emblem.

- I never liked Morgan at all nor understood why he/she are so popular aside from being potentially broken units. Their personalities are the most uninteresting to me in the Awakening children cast and I can only put them above Kana, Ophelia, & Soleil from Fates.

- Shadows of Valentia was such a huge downgrade from Fates (Not Revelations!) even if it’s a remake of the black sheep of the franchise. Gameplay is bad from the way magic is handled to the map design. Spamming a lot of Cantors in a map does not make the game interesting! Also Alm was a boring, generic guy that everyone praised on and gets to lead the Deliverance that fast. (rip Ferdinand staying since at least there would have been an ally that was weary of him). Celica was fine until her argument with Alm and being stupid in trying to give her life to an obvious looking evil dude (that one Cantor + Jedah). Conrad saving her here and there only made her look weaker! It has a better plot than Fates don’t get me wrong but not by that much.

- While I liked Genealogy of the Holy War and their characters such as Ethyln, Finn, Quan, Arden, Ayra, Lewyn, Arvis, and Ares, I don’t personally think it was the pinnacle of writing in FE that some people make it out to be. Sigurd’s whole “love at first sight” with Deirdre was dumb and the second half felt weak in the storytelling department compared to the first (started fine in Chapter 6 but gradually went down for me). The first half is why Arvis is one of my favorite FE villains. Gameplay wise, it wasn’t too bad although having items hidden without any hints whatsoever was silly even if it was an earlier installment in the franchise.

- Three Houses stuff and while it may change once I do the Golden Deer route, Leonie is the best female along with Ingrid and the former is just that underrated compared to the other females (save Annette I guess...?). :( Now if only I didn’t miss her support conversation... Male-wise, Sylvain surprised me and he’s now another huge favorite of mine! Great unit, decent-to-great chemistry with the others, etc...wasn’t expecting that from him!

——

OK my weird FE ones are done, so for other ones outside of video games: Sweet potatoes and tea should be expunged from the universe!

(Well OK maybe there’s some sort of tea I haven’t tried yet that’s good to me but I’ve tasted so many kinds that haven’t appealed to me)

13 reasons why is atrocious. I’m currently watching the third season of that show and they literally just had a bunch of terrible things happening to characters (r***, assault, ICE invasion, school shootings and more) for shock value without really touching on it. It’s practically torture porn and they like to drag on the season which makes it incredibly hard to watch. Why this show has dedicated fans (who love it not just watch it) is beyond me.

I disagree. I think 13 Reasons shows what high school can be like for many students that are often overlooked and ignored. I was one of those kids. My school literally did nothing to stop my bullying no Matter how many times I marched into the principal’s office screaming that I was sick of being harassed on a daily basis. No one ever showed me that they cared about me or my well being. I became severely depressed and only went to school because I had no where else to go during the day without anyone finding me. I once had an ice tea carton thrown directly at my head and hit me and I complained and nothing had changed. This is the reality some kids face that are often ignored just because they’re different from their peers and don’t fit in anywhere. Sometimes schools even ignore sexual assault that happens on school property or even give some sort of punishment that is basically a slap on the wrist. I’m disgusted that the school district I went to is only now setting up programs to prevent bullying and suicide which I think was only done to make themselves look good to everyone and because of social expectations. The sad truth is that if I had been a “valuable” student in their eyes like an intelligent kid headed for an Ivy League college, kid of rich parents, or even a star athlete, the school would have done something to help me. You know that it was extremely bad and the school’s fault if the principal later apologizes to your dad for not protecting you and admitting that the school should have done a lot more to help you after you graduated. This is why I think 13 Reasons is a great show.

I’m sorry at all those occurrences that happened to you and I’m truly emphatic concerning your circumstances. While I agree the show isn’t all terrible, the way plots are handled are. They aren’t handled with care. It’s just “well we covered this let’s move on to the next thing”. Theres just no school in America (or the world for that matter) where multiple rapes, a suicide and an almost school shooting wouldn’t of been looked into. It’s one thing to just have mass bullying but all of that is just unrealistic. It’s not like it’s even between the school and the students; all of this stuff is well documented outside of school and not even the school board is getting involved? It just comes of as shallow and unrealistic and I’m saying this as a watcher of the show. Bullying culture is real but not to the extreme where almost everyone is actively aware that the jocks are sexually assaulting people and little to no adult is doing anything. It goes way beyond that and just looks like they’re implicating any current tragedies that’s occurring in the real world and uses them as substance-less plots without any real meaning for shock value.

That’s fair but honestly, many victims of sexual assault and rape are too afraid to come forward out of fear of retaliation against them or for being labeled. This is why accusations often come up long after the attack. Jessica is a perfect example of what often happens to a victim that comes forward.

Yeah it took Jessica awhile but Tyler was raped and so was Hannah and numerous of other girls and you mean to tell me everyone is just acting like it’s fine and dandy? And it’s not even like it’s this dark secret. Some many girls were getting raped they had to start a feminist club in the school. Yep.... rape is being used a plot device in this show instead of actively addressing the elephant in the room; why is no adult doing anything about this?

I really hate Avatar the Last Airbender. The writing isn’t as good as people claim and there are plot holes in episodes no one mentions. Plus sometimes their solution to a problem doesn’t solve anything and makes things worse if that. I just hate the show and don’t see why people love it so much.

The Great Divide is a very good example of how terrible the show is. The most obvious and logical solution is literally screaming in the characters’ faces and is glowing radioactive nuclear green that even Stevie Wonder could see and the writers end the episode with a lie as the solution which both teaches literally nothing and makes things even worse in the future and I’m supposed to root for these kids?! I’m sorry but everyone in that episode is a complete moron! You have the two tribes that claim to never agree with what the other one says which not only negates the feud but you have many more things that they agree with throughout the episode such as what caused the feud, leaving to avoid the fire tribe, bringing food with them, using the kids as guides, going in the same direction, etc. That’s an awful lot of agreeing for tribes that claim not wanting to ever agree with each other. Even worse is that the 1961 children’s novel The Phantom Tollbooth dealt with something similar and it had the solution that agreeing to disagree is a form of agreement that the two feuding kings couldn’t argue with that logic. So how does this cartoon solve their similar conflict? By making up a story. No telling the tribe leaders that they are both humans and that they aren’t so different from each other and should work together. No listing all the obvious agreements that they both made without realizing it. Just some weak made up story that the tribes should have realized wasn’t true given they have knowledge about their history pretty well and there never was any mention of any type of games played by the two tribes. And the main reason I keep nitpicking it is because I’m sick of how people keep talking about how “great” the show was when in fact it was poorly written and has more holes than a wheel of Swiss cheese!

My unpopular opinion is that anyone who claims that America is an equal opportunity place for everyone is kidding themselves. Yes in theory that's true but there's literally been/is systematic blockades in people’s (minorities groups) lives to stop them from achieving the American dream.

Also cultural appropriation is a very real thing so instead of throwing the "I can do whatever I want argument" educate yourselves. Thank you for coming to my Serebii talk.

I’m suspicious of anyone who advocates for freedom of speech after being called out. So yeah my unpopular is you’re shady if you do that.
