Titles and airdates for all three specials have been announced, alongside a key visual and a promo video.

The key visual depicts Roy and Uruto standing side by side in front of the Prism Tower of Miare City, both of them wearing Mega Rings. In the background, we see the Yellow Mega Lucario with its fierce gaze fixed upon the duo, as well as Miare City resident Matiere.

It's a key visual filled with intriguing details, building excitement towards learning both how Roy and Uruto first met, as well as who the mysterious armored man is.

A promo video for Episode Mega Evolution has been released as well. The video shows elements like Roy and Uruto's first meeting and a battle scene featuring them going up against the Yellow Lucario, revealing that Episode Mega Evolution is going to be a story from the past depicting Roy and Uruto's journey towards learning to use Mega Evolution. The battle against the Yellow Lucario, and the appearances by Matiere from the key visual as well as her Nyasper Mokoo, make this video a must see for video game fans as well. You'll now finally be able to see Roy's encounter with both the Yellow Lucario as well as Mega Evolution itself!

"Yuu", the theme song for Episode Mega Evolution, will be sung by Yuzu, who also handled Get Back, the opening theme for the Mega Voltage arc. A short clip from the song was first revealed in the new Episode Mega Evolution trailer.

20250822_183756_p_l_47143320.jpg

Episode titles:
Friday October 10th: "Roy: Training"
Friday October 17th: "Uruto: Strongest"
Friday October 24th: "Mega Evolution: Bond"

A comment from Yuzu:
Not only are we extremely happy to be allowed to handle the theme song for the Pocket Monsters Episode Mega Evolution anime as well after doing the one for the Mega Voltage arc, we're also happy we get to drum up excitement for this story with another new song.

20250822_183801_p_l_30505383.jpg

This song incorporates imagery of Roy and Uruto's first meeting and subsequent bonding, as well as of them growing stronger through battles against the Yellow Lucario. Just like we did with Get Back, we teamed up with TeddyLoid-kun for the musical aspect. This time, we intended to create something new and unique by combining a traditional Japanese flavor centered around the sound of the koto with modern digital sound and our own vocal interplay.
And while the song incorporates elements from the Pokémon anime, it was also themed around its position as a song to be played during our first Asia tour as Yuzu in 6 years this December.
Just like you, we're also really excited to follow the new encounters, fierce battles and gradually revealed truths in the Pokémon anime every week, and we look forward to learning what kind of stories lie in wait from here on as well!

A comment from Misaki Kuno, the voice of Matiere:
My name is Misaki Kuno, and I will be playing Matiere. I've grown up watching Pokémon ever since I was a kid, so it makes me really happy to get to be part of the franchise like this. The absolute highlight of the show is seeing all the various characters do their absolute utmost, so I'm sure you'll appreciate this series of precious moments featuring the characters staying strong and overcoming the pain of having to face their own weaknesses alongside their companions. On a personal note, I had so so much fun during the dubbing sessions...! It managed to make me once again feel, from the bottom of my heart, the same joy of acting that I felt when I first acted in front of a mike at age 10. It would make me happier than anything else if you viewers enjoyed it as well. Best regards!

A comment from Masahiko Tanaka, the voice of Master Mayonnaise:
Yours truly is named Master Mayonnaise! I am a slightly eccentric old man who appears before Roy and Uruto during their Mega Evolution training. Those two sore losers treat their training as competition, but they seem a bit out of step with each other. Hey now, haven't you forgotten something important? This is a story of how these two meet and then grow through their Mega Evolution training. You better start looking forward to it right now!

Owada is famous for his love for Pokémon, and has been dreaming of getting a role in the anime. The character he plays, Principal Cyano, serves as the principal of Blueberry Academy, which he himself founded, and welcomes Liko and the others with open arms. His earnest dream of a role in the show finally having been granted, Owada made a post on X where he wrote "Hooray! I'm in the Pokémon anime! This is all thanks to you guys! 'Welcome to my grand Blueberry Academy'! Pero (Kuwassu), Chiko (Zenigame) and Chiro (Waninoko) are just as overjoyed as me! I'd be really happy if you'd watch" and attached a happy photo.

Pokémon Anime News:
The theme songs for the new adventure in the Rising Again arc will be... "Iolite" by Eve as the opening and "Nete mo samete mo" by Polkadot Stingray as the ending! We've received comments from Eve and Polkadot Stingray, the people behind these songs:

I've grown up with Pokémon ever since I was little, and I love the video games so much I've played all of them from Pocket Monsters Red/Green and up. Recently I've even started playing Pokémon Cards with my friends on the regular, so I find myself surrounded by Pokémon on a daily basis... so when I was offered this job, I knew I just had to take it. The song is titled "Iolite", which is a symbol of guidance and direction, and I created it with the desire to have it serve as music for what lies beyond the group's adventure. The Pokémon anime seems to have been on the air for 28 years now, and while I felt I'd been at it for a long time when I recently hit my 16th anniversary as an artist, that made me realize that I still have a lot to do. I hope we can all see this story through to the end together alongside Iolite. Thank you for your continued support.
-Eve

This is Shizuku from Polkadot Stingray, and I love Pokémon. I first encountered the franchise at age 4, and that's when I devoted my life to it. I got so carried away I actually became a video game developer at one point, but even now that I'm a musician, Pokémon will always be number one in my life! I was actually crying as I wrote this song; The hope present in Liko and Roy's adventure, the impression their world gives off, and the way all the characters grow over time... This show just has so much appeal! Nete mo samete mo is Pagogo's... sorry, I'm running out of space here! Yeeeah!!!!! Pocket Monsters has allowed me discover so many new things, and it's going to continue doing so in the future as well! I could actually write another 100000 characters or so, but I'll give you the rest of them in the actual song! Look forward to Nete mo samete mo, Polkadot Stingray's masterpiece and the highlight of my life!
-Shizuku, Polkadot Stingray

Episode Mega Evolution:
There's finally only 3 days left until the premiere of three weeks in a row of Pokémon anime Mega specials! As such, we've received a comment from Uruto's voice actress Natsumi Fujiwara-san:

Uruto was a new addition to the cast in Mega Voltage, but despite his awkwardness, he has come quite a long way while chasing after Roy and spending time with the Rising Volt Tacklers; In his own unique way, he's experienced a variety of feelings, fostered bonds, and aimed towards becoming the strongest. But how did Uruto get involved with Roy?! It's all finally going to get revealed; How the two of them met, how Roy and Lucario met, what kind of Mega Evolution-related training they received, and what happened to Uruto's precious partner Yamirami during this training. There's a ton of powerful scenes coming up, so I really hope you'll enjoy Episode Mega Evolution! Best regards,

Episode Mega Evolution:
There's finally only 2 days left until the premiere of three weeks in a row of Pokémon anime Mega specials! As such, we've received a comment from Roy's voice actress Yuka Terasaki-san:

I assume you've all been wondering just what happened during that 1 year long blank period that followed the Rising Volt Tacklers' disbandment? The mystery of how Roy met Lucario and Uruto will finally get cleared up! I really like the reason the Yellow Lucario joined him because the events involved are so unlike anything that's happened so far! These specials feature some really intense turns of events as Roy and Uruto battle, train and battle some more in order to learn how to use Mega Evolution, so mega look forward to them!
-Yuka Terasaki, the voice of Roy

Episode Mega Evolution:
The Pokémon anime mega specials finally start tomorrow! We've received comments from the two members of Yuzu, who were responsible for the theme song Yuu:

Kitagawa: The TV show Pocket Monsters Episode Mega Evolution finally starts airing tomorrow. Hello everyone,
Both: we're Yuzu.
Kitagawa: We're going to be handling the theme song for the Pocket Monsters Episode Mega Evolution TV show.
Iwasawa: Yeah.

How did you feel when you learned you had been chosen to handle another theme song for the Pocket Monsters TV show right after Mega Voltage?
Kitagawa: It was perfect timing, you know?
Iwasawa: Yeah.
Kitagawa: You see, we had decided to do our first Asia Tour in quite a while this year, and as we were thinking of writing some new songs for it, we get informed about this theme song deal.
Iwasawa: Yes.
Kitagawa: The timing was incredible, and it let us pour our heart into this theme song with that very same passion we were writing songs for the Asia Tour with.

What were you trying to express through the music and lyrics this time?
Kitagawa: Okay, so last time we got to do a theme song for the Pokémon anime we did a song called "GET BACK".
Iwasawa: Yeah.
Kitagawa: And we wrote that song around the idea that "GET BACK" means trying to get back the future. As we created it, we were comparing and contrasting the protagonists. This time around, however, we instead focused on their bonds.

Finally, do you have something you want to tell those who are looking forward to the new opening theme?
Kitagawa: We are once again very happy to have had our song Yuu get chosen as a theme song after GET BACK. We hope it will make the show even more exciting, so please give it a listen. Thank you very much.
Iwasawa: The Pocket Monsters TV show airs every Friday at 6:55pm on the TV Tokyo Network.
Kitagawa: And believe it or not, the Pokémon anime mega specials Episode Mega Evolution that we're handling the theme song for will air three weeks in a row starting Friday October 10th, so please give them a watch. Best regards! This has been...
Both: Yuzu!

A New Pokémon Anime Trailer:
Rising Again begins Friday October 31st! Here, we'll see the start of battle training in an all new setting! The trailer also features a little preview of the new opening theme Iolite by Eve-san! And then, at the very end... "Can you hear me?"

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We've received comments from Shinya Owada-san, the voice of Principal Cyano! While joined by Pero-san the Kuwassu, Chiko-san the Zenigame and Chiro-san the Waninoko, he talked about how he felt when he got cast, his thoughts on playing Principal Cyano, and more.

Hello everyone. This is Shinya Owada. This time I will be playing Cyano, the principal of Blueberry Academy, who's going to appear in the Rising Again arc of the Pocket Monsters TV show. "Welcome to my grand Blueberry Academy!"
How did you feel when you you got cast?
How I felt? It made me very happy. The beautiful... you know, scenery, of Blueberry Academy, this place that's floating in the sea, or should we maybe say submerged in the sea, it's going to appear in the anime exactly the way it's like in the video game, you know. Me getting to enter, or be a part of, that place sounded really fun.
What were your initial impressions of Cyano, and how did they change after you got to play him?
When I played the game, I thought Principal Cyano came across as a real dandy, though one with a slightly humorous side to him. Now that I've personally played him in the animation though, I've realized that he's not just charming and stylish, but that he genuinely loves the students of Blueberry Academy and has this passionate desire to shape their futures.
How did you feel about the dubbing sessions? Do you have any behind-the-scenes stories to share?
Coming into such a group of amazing voice actors and acting alongside them made me a little... nervous actually. However, I put a lot of thought into how to, you know, express Principal Cyano's idiosyncrasies as I played him. I gave him an excited voice that's a bit higher than my normal one, so I'm wondering what you'll think of it.
Finally, do you have something you want to tell to the viewers?
This series will feature new and really wonderful characters, as well as really wonderful Pokémon. Make sure to watch.
A status report from my dubbing session will be shown on Pokédoko Sunday October 26th at 7:30am, so please watch that as well. The Pocket Monsters TV show airs every Friday at 6:55pm on the TV Tokyo Network. The Rising Again arc, which also features my character Principal Cyano, premieres Friday October 31st. Please watch the start of this new adventure. This has been Shinya Owada. Bye bye. Bye bye. Bye bye. Bye bye.

Rising Again:
"Yokoso, boku no Blueberry Gakuen e!" We present the model sheet for Principal Cyano, who will appear in the new chapter of the Pokémon anime! Look forward to the premiere on Friday October 31st!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rising Again:
Here we have Shinya Owada-san, who played Principal Cyano, talking about his favorite Pokémon. We couldn't fit it into the comment video:

Are there any Pokémon you started to like after playing this role?
You know, believe it or not, this time my dear friend Kuwassu has evolved and turned into a Welkamo. Welkamo is really cool too, so that made me fall in love with it all over again. We have it over here... Yeah, here it is. This is Welkamo. In the anime, it grows up and becomes a Welkamo. "Isn't that right?" "Yeah, it is." "That's great, isn't it?" "It really is, isn't it?" That's the two of them talking, see?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rising Again:
"Sou iu no, yokunai to omoimasu!" We present the model sheet for Taro, who will appear in the new chapter of the Pokémon anime! Look forward to the premiere on Friday October 31st!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We've received a comment from Taro's voice actress Seiran Kobayashi-san. How did she play a character who comes across as as serious and no-nonsense as Taro does?

My name is Seiran Kobayashi, and I've been given the opportunity to play Taro. Taro was one of my favorite characters when I played Pocket Monsters Scarlet/Violet, with her "Sou iu no yokunai to omoimasu!" line making a particularly lasting impression on me, so it's a true honor to be assigned the duty of bringing these words crafted by Taro to life through sound. The more I played the character, the more strongly I felt that her charm lies in how her idea of "cute" is built on a wealth of amassed knowledge, and I also had a lot of fun relearning all these things about battling and individual Pokémon characteristics as I played the role. I hope I've been able to support Liko, Roy, Dot and Uruto to the best of my ability during this crucial period of growth for them! Thank you for your support as we enter the Rising Again arc. Best regards,
-Seiran Kobayashi, the voice of Taro

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rising Again:
"Yuruuuku ikou zei" We present the model sheet for Kakitsubata, who will appear in the new chapter of the Pokémon anime! Look forward to the premiere on Friday October 31st!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rising Again:
Here's the comment from Kakitsubata's voice actor, Hiroyuki Yoshino-san! Pay close attention to the chill Kakitsubata's battle scenes as well!

I will be taking part in the anime as the voice of Kakitsubata. Make sure to check out the episodes live to learn how he'll be interacting with the protagonists, okay? Everyone at Blueberry Academy look forward to your support! Please continue to enjoy the Pokémon anime in the Rising Again arc as well!
-Hiroyuki Yoshino, the voice of Kakitsubata

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rising Again:
We've received comments from Shizuku-san from Polkadot Stingray, who are responsible for the Pokémon anime ending theme "Nete mo samete mo"! This huge Pokémon fan told us how she felt when she learned they'd be handling the ending:

Hello everyone, this is Shizuku from Polkadot Stingray. This time we'll be handling "Nete mo samete mo", the ending theme to the TV show Pocket Monsters Rising Again. I'm so happy! I'd now like to tell you all kinds of things about the song and about Pokémon.
How did you feel when you learned you had been chosen to handle the theme song?
When I learned we were going to do the theme song, I got so happy I cried. And then, when it was time to turn the song from a demo into a fully realized track... or rather, when we got the point of starting to write the full song, I cried again as I was writing the lyrics. I was so happy I cried, see? And then when we were doing the final recording, of the vocals, I cried again as I was editing them by myself at home. I was so happy! Thank you so much.
How did the Pokémon anime influence the song?
There's a lot of aspects of the Pokémon anime I find appealing, but I was really torn about which specific elements I'd pick as the ones I'd express through the song. However, I... well, personally, hope that Nete mo samete mo particularly manages to express the, you know... what do you call it, the... hope? present in Liko and Roy's adventure, as well as the, you know, kind of way the world feels so vast and pure. Those are the aspects I wanted to express using sound, so the song gives off this kind of sparkling pure feeling overflowing with hope, I think. Please give it a listen.
Finally, do you have something you want to tell to the viewers?
I think I've managed to throughly cram what I love about Liko and Roy's adventure, about the Pokémon anime, into the ending theme Nete mo samete mo. This turned out to be an extremely personal song for me, so let's all support Liko and Roy's adventure while dancing briskly to Nete mo samete mo! I really really hope you'll check it out! Yay yay! With that said, the Pocket Monsters TV show airs every Friday at 6:55pm on the TV Tokyo Network. The Rising Again arc, which features Nete mo samete mo as its ending theme, premieres Friday October 31st. Please watch the anime all the way to the end and enjoy the ending theme as well. This has been Shizuku. Bye bye.

We've received voice comments from Eve-san, who is responsible for the new opening theme "Iolite"! Among other things, he talks about what he wanted to convey through the song, and we made sure to ask him about his favorite Pokémon as well! Check out tomorrow's episode of the Pokémon anime to find out what kind of song this is!

Hello everyone, this is Eve. This time I'll be handling Iolite, the opening theme to the TV show Pocket Monsters Rising Again. I'd now like to tell you all kinds of things about the song and about Pokémon. Thank you for having me.
How did you feel when you learned you had been chosen to handle the opening theme?
To me, Pokémon is just part of my life, something that's always been with me ever since I was little... so when I was offered this job, I just knew I had to take it.
How did the Pokémon anime influence the song?
I created Iolite with a desire to load the song with such things as Liko, and Roy, and their feelings, as well as their bonds with their companions.
Is there anything in the song you want people to listen especially closely to or that you took particular care with?
Well, in the end I wanted to fill even the music itself with what someone who has lived their entire life together with Pokémon like I have thinks of as "Pokémon-esque elements", and I hope you'll be able to notice aspects that kind of... encourage the group as their adventures take them towards the very heart and soul of the Pokémon anime, or that make them able to reaffirm their bonds.
Do you have any Pokémon-related memories you'd like to share?
The big one would have to be playing all the Pokémon video games ever since Red/Green. I especially remember being unable to win against the Elite Four in Gold/Silver and Fire Red/Leaf Green, trying and retrying over and over again. There's also going to see the movies every year with mom and dad, and if there was a Pokémon I wanted, I'd have them buy a preorder ticket so I could exchange it for that Pokémon... Yeah, I have so many Pokémon-related memories I just can't narrow this down to only one.
What is your favorite Pokémon, and why?
I really like Kingdra. Why, though? Well... I simply like the way it looks. Back in the day I had a Seadra in my party, and taking it to Gold/Silver and having it evolve was a really emotional experience. I've been extremely fond of it ever since. I also really like Water Pokémon in general, so that's probably part of it too.
Finally, do you have something you want to tell to the viewers?
I myself hope to watch over this story alongside you viewers and Iolite from here on, so please enjoy Iolite. With that said, the Pocket Monsters TV show airs every Friday at 6:55pm on the TV Tokyo Network. The Rising Again arc, which features Iolite as its opening theme, premieres Friday October 31st. Please keep your attention focused on this beginning of a new adventure alongside the song. This has been Eve. Bye bye.

Pokémon Anime New Chapter Premiere:
We present some side comments from Shizuku-san from Polkadot Stingray, the singer of the new ending theme for Rising Again. Here she talks about what she thinks of Soublades and Amethio, as well as her favorite Ghost type Pokémon:

We know you like Amethio and Soublades, what exactly is it about them you like?
I really love Amethio and Soublades, but you know, when Amethio first appeared, when he first appeared in the Pokémon anime, my reaction was just an ordinary "Hm, he seems villainous. Hm"... you know, something like that. But see, I really really love Ghost type Pokémon, and the exact moment he said "Soublades!" and sent out Soublades, so the exact moment I realized his partner was a Soublades, I started really liking him. I think he might have even become my favorite character. But then I kept watching, and watching, and I realized that Amethio is a character who really sticks to his beliefs, and you know, that really resonates with my own way of thinking as a working adult and member of society. So I really love the character now because that part of him really resonates with me. And I really stan Soublades as well!
Do you have any Pokémon-related memories you'd like to share?
The first video game I ever played in my life, back when I was about 4 years old, was Pocket Monsters Red. That made me fall in love with Pokémon and with video games, and I feel like it's stayed that way for about 30 years now, you know. So because of that, Pokémon has always been number one in my life.
What is your favorite Pokémon, and why?
My favorite? Well, I really love Ghost types, so... Well, sorry Soublades, but it's Mimikkyu. Sorry, I just love it so much. Not just in terms of looks, but also in terms of how strong it is... It's a Ghost type, so it has this slightly scary vibe to it as well, you know. Like, what would happen if you were to look inside it? I love that kind of stuff. Ah, it's so cute. It's my favorite for sure. Sorry.

It has been announced that TV specials for the Pocket Monsters TV show (airs on the TV Tokyo Network every Friday at 6:55pm, officially abbreviated "Anipoke") titled "Episode Mega Evolution" are going to air three weeks in a row starting Friday October 10th.

Episode titles:
Friday October 10th: "Roy: Training"
Friday October 17th: "Uruto: Strongest"
Friday October 24th: "Mega Evolution: Bond"

A comment from Yuzu:
Not only are we extremely happy to be allowed to handle the theme song for the Pocket Monsters Episode Mega Evolution anime as well after doing the one for the Mega Voltage arc, we're also happy we get to drum up excitement for this story with another new song.

So, this is a special like the XY megaevolution or will be part of Horizons episodes?

Episode 1 only Roy, episode two only Uruto and episode 3 both of them.

Nice to finally see Emma.

Kazuniya

iris is judging you
On the one hand, this is really neat and it will probably serve both as a flashback and a setup for the future Kalos visit. On the other hand, I'll be stuck with the least interesting HZ characters for three weeks, which is not a prospect that fills me with excitement. Here's hoping it will be an interesting three-parter.

The cutest EVER!!!!
Man, I don't want to just complain but it's hard to be interested when it's the two characters I don't care for much and the overused Lucario... cool for Roy fans tho.
But maybe after this it's the start of a new arc in Kalos focusing on the rampaging megas and showcasing Z-A characters and this special is just a set up to have the girl (forgot her name) call Roy and Uruto to help and they bring all the RV with them
