Now I understand. For each kind of contest you're about to enter, for example beauty contest. You should give blue pokeblocks to your pokemon to raise it'sbeauty condition, the pokemon should like the pokeblock too. As much as you feed your pokemon with the right pokeblocks, you get more hearts and the thing that rates you at the end will go up before starting the standard rating. I can't speak good english, I hope you understand me.

For each type of contest you should give your pokemons pokeblocks that increase there beauty, toughness, smartness, cuteness and coolness and thats when hearts will appear on top of their heads.
And the pokeblocks should be suitable for the contest that your pokemon will enter.
