User Notes - A New Way for us to Track your Warnings

Hey guys

Under the suggestion of a couple of mods, I have implemented a new feature that allows both us and you to keep track of any warnings you have recieved since normally it is done over PM and tends to be forgotten or ignored by both sides .

Whenever a mod does anything to you, either give you a warning, strip you of your PM privileges (for Chain PMs for example), delete or remove parts from your sig or even just changing your name, it will be logged as a user note.

Now nobody else can see the usernotes on you except for the Mod Staff. You can see these user notes and not edit them.

This is just a measure for us both being able to see what is going on.

To view them just go to your profile and below your post count, it is here as seen below

And when you view, you will see notes in this set up

This shows both what it is, when it was given, why it was given and if possible a link to the reason for example if you spammed

And thats essentially that...it'll be a couple of weeks before all the mod staff are fully trained on it...but this is how we're gonna keep track of things. So if a Mod sends you a PM warning you...pay attention to it...since if the Warnings stack up, you will be banned, and we don't want you banned

But remember, not all notes are bad...we will have notes on say if your name has been changed so that you dont fool us into changing it again too quickly.

That's good. At least the usernotes are being put to good use, instead of the way it's used at another forum...>.>

EDIT: That's funny...I haven't been warned yet...I could've sworn I've been warned before...

Good idea. I've always wanted to know if I had any warnings or anything. *goes off to check.*

Old warnings/sig removals won't appear in the usernotes, since they have just been turned on and it would be too much work to add them.

Yes I like the system, it's making modding a lot easier^^

Thank you, SPPf! :)
While I've seen user notes on several other forums of this type before, this is the first time I've seen them used in this way.

Just curious...are these notes permanent after they are made, or will they disappear over time?

Well, I pretty much think it was all Virtual Headache's idea. xDD When I saw the thread I thought about that.

And, yeah. . . that's smart. xDD I love usernotes~

Really and truly
Huh, I had just taken a look at my profile to look for one of my recent posts when I saw the 'User Notes' thing. I was pretty sure I had never seen it before, so I figured it would be best to check out the Announcements forum to see if there was an explanation on this new feature.
And here I am. :O

Anyways, this is an interesting new feature. There isn't much to comment on, except that it's kind of neat. All it really does, though, is make searching to see if people have been warned before quicker, easier, and more efficient.

It's a bit useless if you can't see if you've had warnings in the past, though. (Of course it would still say in the Mod section and all, so it's not like nobody would know if you were warned before.)
Will previous warnings ever be added in, or will the only warnings on it be the ones from now onwards?

It was. Bless her, as this is really going to be useful.

Psychic: Probably from now onward, as the current ways of keeping track of warnings and sig deletions span for months back. =/

xD Well, at her forum, we use them too. . . but for a different purpose. =X

I've seen this system implemented at PI. I'm glad to see it used here. Now, we just need reputation...*shot*

I say, we use usernotes to. . . have fun. xD Not for warns and stuff. It's not needed there. ;D

What was that supposed to mean? >O You SPAM UNs too. So there! D:

Well, actaully it's going to be easier to have control over warns/ name changes now. :)

I bless my twin, too. xD

OMG, empty UNs. . . not one. . . no spam. I. Most. SPAM. Them! DDD: . . . OMG, I shouldn't have said that. >_<

OK. I like the idea. It helps. Also let's people know who to trust.

Normal members can only view their user notes, not other people's.
