Vaporeon with Flamethrower.

ooo, what's cooking?
This thread is a bit unusual. Compared to others, it may be a bit different. U notivced the title? How can a water type kno flamethrower. In FR and LG, ditto breeding is introduced, and ruby and sappire's "TM breeding" technique can make some strangly paculiar move-sets, including pokemon types with move-sets mostly impossible... Usually. If bred with a ditto, a male flareon that learned, thru TMs only i might add, Flamethrower. Now breed, then u'll have an eevee with flamethrower. If u use water stone, voala, u have a water type knowing a fire type move!

PLz add ur peculiar movesets, that u invented, here, and people can make strats with um. Mods, if u feel this is very important, plz stick this, if u think it useless, plz close it. Curiousity may have knocked out the Skitty, but I don fall that ez, well guys, lets see some strange moves! :D :D :D

Unfortunately that doesn't work. The lowest evolved form of the Pokemon (in this case Eevee) must be able to learn the TM in order for it to be passed down. Eevee can't learn Flamethrower, so the move can't be passed down.

gah man, but can u do other stuff though. I'm not sure, but there may be some pokemon that learn some stuff their evolutions don't, or other things like that, and if not, then just make unusaual strats

There's someone that mentioned that you could breed Ice Beam on a Bagon (with a Kingdra). Normally, a Bagon cannot learn Ice Beam, but I wonder if that's true?

Possibly. I wonder.

Bagon doesn't have Icebeam as an egg move so it won't work

The only Pokemon I know of that can't learn a specific TM, but can learn that particular attack by breeding is Psyduck's Psychic attack.

Other than that, the only water type I know of that can learn Flamethrower via TM is Octillery.

That was me everyone. It happened in my Ruby

My Groudon knows Solarbeam. Please don't flame me for this, I know it learns it naturally, I'm just saying you wouldn't think it could learn it's weakness.

Kind of like how Lapras, Starmie, and Kyogre can learn Thunderbolt? ;)

And I've heard that rumor as well, about that Bagon that knows Ice Beam...it's probably false though.

It can learn hydro pump if you breed it with Gyrados or Kingdra. =/

yeah, even though groudons type is "ground" he really is like a fire/ground type. and he can learn solarbeam because he is the pokemon of the sun. thats why when he comes out of a pokeball it starts getting really sunny and bright., same with kyogre except water

It's great when your pokemon knows a move that's opposite to your type. Send out a flamethrowering gyarados or other water pokemon, the opponent sends out a grass pokemon, and the grass pokemon is toast. :D Same with a water pokemon that knows an ice move. I always try to give some of my pokemon these varied type moves to give them more of an advantage in battle.
