VCR Timer recording help

Its almost time
Something on Tv is coming up that I need to tape, thing is I am away at work when it comes on but have no fear, timer recording is here!

Here's the problem, my VCR can only seem to record on SP Format meaning it can only fit 2 hours worth of shows on a tape, is there a way I can fix this? Or am I stuck Timer Recording in SP mode till I get a new VCR?

Well, I might be able to help. What brand is your VCR? Magnavox, RCA, Sony or what?

Oh, okay. Samsung is pretty old, I don't think they really make VCR's anymore.

So, anyway, can you get to your Menu to timer record or is it blocked for some reason? If it's not, see if you can go to what's called Timer Help/Programming Service. It's one of the two or I'm thinking of another brand...

If I wanna timer record all I have to do is press "Program" on my remote.

There is a menu item called "Timer Recording Pendings" but that only shows a list of what is gonna record.
