Vegeta Saga Vol. 10 The Saiyan Prince released yet?

Funimation said this dvd would be released 7/11/06. I checked with local stores that normally carry these types of dvds and they don't have a release date for it yet. I checked the dbz website and the date hasn't changed.
Did anyone get this and where could I find it.

If you look on other sites, including the Z Store, you'll see that the DVD's mysteriously vanished and has been replaced with the 35 episode, 5-disc set of the complete Vegeta Saga.

And at fifty dollars, if I'm not mistaken.

For those who consider themselves Dragon Ball Z fans, if you have the money to buy it, don't already own the individual DVDs, and pass this up, you're foolish.

I have the money. I don't have the individual DVDs and I'm passing them up. However, I am not foolish. Why?

Japanese Dragon Box quality single DVDs. 8D

Anyways, I wouldn't completely count on them being a wise choice yet, as we don't know of how the quality will be. It's bad enough FUNi's Vegeta Saga DVDs look like *** compared to the Japanese DVDs and even the recent Spain DVD releases. There's no telling what quality we'll get having 35 episodes squashed into five singler layer DVDs when they stretched them out past 10 discs originally with just three episodes each.

And it's unknown whether it'll have the superb Mexican-Spanish dub on it or not. If not, then FUNi's really screwing around with the fans for not giving us the dub for most of the series, giving it to us in one movie and then part of the Vegeta Saga.

Doesn't help that they said they might rerelease the entire series in said format.

I knew that... b*stard. >_>

If they include a fair share of extras on the DVDs, then you know for sure that the picture quality is going to look like sh*t in comparison. Though, if I were any Dragon Ball Z in the U.S. who chooses to by the domestic releases, I would be happy to not get any extras. This comes from experience with the Evangelion Platinum Thinpak considering that while the extras were stripped away so more episodes could be placed on each disc (thereby eliminating a disc, in fact), it was for better overall than the single releases since it is a helluva lot cheaper and pointless commentary isn't included on them.

Come to think of it, when was the last time we saw any English release for an anime have more than just the English and Japanese language tracks? I mean, the re-release of the first Ghost in the Shell movie aside, is there any series that have gotten that treatment lately?

Doesn't help that they said they might rerelease the entire series in said format.

Because like any logical fan with limits to his/her money, you aren't going to shell out money for a re-release that has little to offer other than the same episodes in fewer discs (or something to that affect), right?

(Wish that I confidently say the same...)

I know I sure as hell won't. Though those who are still collecting the DVDs are gonna be thoroughly ****** since they've wasted so much money on a 90+ DVD collection.

I'm glad I didn't really grab that many and intend to sell them. :x

I know some releases that have been getting French tracks as well, such as the Ghibli movies. It's not much, but hey, it's another language.

Wait a tic, where did you find out they were just going to use single-layer discs? And isn't this set supposed to have 39 episodes, not 35?

Vegeta Saga is 35 episodes in total. And knowing FUNimation, they're going to opt for single layer. They've never gone with dual layer once. :\
