^ Great! I'll write things up l8r. Had this set and summary on standby since yesterday.

Snorlax @ Leftovers
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 188 HP / 128 Def / 192 SpD
Careful Nature
- Curse
- Frustration
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Curse Lax is really potent at the moment, being able to help check the plethora of special attackers in the tier with its massive HP and Sp.def stat. Chose the Curse set as its another win condition alongside Durant and all it really takes is a +1 to become an extremely dangerous threat. The EV's are tailored to avoid the 2HKO from Gardes Specs Psyshock. As stated, Lax' ability to check and set up on a good portion of non-set up special mons really makes it easy to get its Curse game rolling and pick off teams that've been sufficiently weakened or even straight up mow through them. It may seem odd that we have Sleep Talk over coverage, but Doublade is already kind of dealt with by Darkinium-Z Durant and Nidoqueen though we probably can afford to place more Ghost removers should we pick Sleep Talk. Sleep Talk prevents Snorlax from simply becoming set up bait and its this combo that can very easily allow Snorlax to push his way through teams outright. We can make it EQ depending on how the team turns out, however. Snorlax also benefits from Nidoqueens ability come in on Heracross, absorb T-Spikes, and dispatch Steels and Doublade. Durant can work in tanden with this Lax to perhaps sweep after its done its damage or the other way around. Our current team can benefit from Lax as Lax can take the Fire and Ice moves that so threaten both Durant and Queen and is generally a very potent pivot into special moves. Sun Teams are also very scary in RU, so it gives us a good buffer against the special sweepers that sun may carry. All in all Snorlax can be very useful, but will crumble under physical pressure. Save Lax for pivots early game, but if you see a Curse opening, go for it! A grande wincon and shoutouts to Dew.

IS
OUR
CURRENT CHAMP

Champ_bar.png

Here's a new thing, it's called "CURRENT CHAMP". What is Current Champ, you ask? Well lemme explain.

Our current "champ" is the last winner of an official VO OU tour in the thread! This is kind of a new thing I made up and kind of thought would be a cool incentive to get in on these sick OU tours in the future.

Now then, let's get to the logistics of how to be dubbed "current champ" and how to keep that title.

You must win the last official thread-started OU tour ran by the leader of the clan.
You must defend your title in the next OU tour by winning it all again.
SHOULD you lose your rounds against someone within the subsequent tour, the title will be stripped from you and you'll try again in the next tour, of course.

Oh yeah, perks. Perks are cool.
One perk is that you get to brag! "Hey im the current champ, haha", somethin like that.
Also, you get DOUBLE POINTS for anything you do! Posting any battle win against a VO member, so long as its in a competitive tier, will net you TWO points. The fun part is this also applies to challenges as well. So you can really take advantage of this.

I'll pin this post in the first page somewhere so it's official. Also cleaned up the first page a biiiit.

~~~
And that's it! Kinda wanna see how this goes, so hopefully it'll go well! Last but certainly not least, i'd like to thank everyone that took part! Some of you battled hard and some of you may have had to have life take priority, and that's understandable, but I do know you all have it in you to break past any mental barriers and be winners in-game and "in real life" sooo get out there and do just that!
Thanks all for participatin, we'll have another one of course, for current "champ" title, so DO train up.
~~~

Ooh, options! Options are nice!

Reuniclus @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Recover
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast

Reuniclus is pretty fat and can sponge most non supereffective physical attacks. It also acts as a secondary wincon with Calm Mind and can help a lot with stall. Psyshock lets it outpace other Calm Mind users like Comfey. With Magic Guard Reuniclus provides the team with a switch in for Pokemon that try to poison and/or burn like Mantine, Gligar, Milotic, etc.

Snorlax @ Leftovers
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 188 HP / 128 Def / 192 SpD
Careful Nature
- Curse
- Frustration
- Rest
- Sleep Talk / Earthquake

Curse Lax is really potent at the moment, being able to help check the plethora of special attackers in the tier with its massive HP and Sp.def stat. Chose the Curse set as its another win condition alongside Durant and all it really takes is a +1 to become an extremely dangerous threat. The EV's are tailored to avoid the 2HKO from Gardes Specs Psyshock. As stated, Lax' ability to check and set up on a good portion of non-set up special mons really makes it easy to get its Curse game rolling and pick off teams that've been sufficiently weakened or even straight up mow through them. It may seem odd that we have Sleep Talk over coverage, but Doublade is already kind of dealt with by Darkinium-Z Durant though we definitely can afford to place more Ghost removers should we pick Sleep Talk. Sleep Talk prevents Snorlax from simply becoming set up bait and its this combo that can very easily allow Snorlax to push his way through teams outright. We can make it EQ depending on how the team turns out. As stated before, we can do nothing against Ghost types like Doublade and Sableye so more mons to deal with those two will be appreciated. Durant can work in tanden with this Lax to perhaps sweep after its done its damage or the other way around. Durant can benefit from Lax as Lax can take the Fire and potentially Ice moves that so threaten Durant and the team and is generally a very potent pivot into special moves. Sun Teams are also very scary in RU, so it gives us a good buffer against the special sweepers that sun may carry, if only, for a few switches. All in all Snorlax can be very useful, but will crumble under physical pressure. Save Lax for pivots early game, but if you see a Curse opening, go for it! A grande wincon and shoutouts to Dew.

Both have been explained fairly well, so do use your own judgement to make the call on which one you think would fit best as our third team member. Weight their pros and cons and what you think we should be better prepped for, but don't forget to take the team into account as well. Both are solid options, so don't hesitate to cast a vote and make your voice heard.

Durant @ Darkinium Z
Ability: Hustle
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Hone Claws
- X-Scissor
- Iron Head
- Crunch

Hold the voting...Nidoqueen just got bumped up from NU to UU with a 3.5% usage in May.

Speaking of which, UU got slightly interesting. I've been playing a fair bit of RU so the nidoqueen promotion to me is significantly more interesting.

Oh yea, now that's a setback if i've seen one! Yup! Ok ok, gimme a bit while I figure somethin out.

For now, voting for the CCAT shall be postponed. What a turn of events! And here I thought things just settled down, but it seems not. Thanks all for your patience! A little tier shakedown won't shake us up! Nope!

Durant @ Darkinium Z
Ability: Hustle
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Hone Claws
- X-Scissor
- Iron Head
- Crunch

Oh so here we got a nice little bugger; Durant! Durant packs quite a punch with its ability Hustle, and while it causes all his moves to have Stone Edge accuracy this can be remedied by one use of Hone Claws, which boosts those moves to over 100% accuracy after a +1. Essentially nabbing a +3 in conjunction with the Hustle boost and Z-Hone Claws. The crux of this set is Z-Hone Claws which is a Swords Dance and an accuracy boost in one turn! Let's not forget that better then average 109 base speed. Its this deadly combo of speed and power that makes Durant an excellent late game sweeper. The moveset is standard enough, I felt we could forgo Superpower for Crunch this time as Doublade is absolutely prominent in the tier and pretty much a hard stop to this hard working ant. It can also double as nuke that won't miss should we need it thanks to Blackhole Eclipse. Outspeeding Durant naturally is a hard thing to do in this tier, as 109 does outspeed a good chunk. Scarfers like HP Fire Shaymin, Fire Punch Flygon, and Flamethrower Zoroark can be a bit troublesome. The last two are rare though, from what I see, so be sure to scout for those scarves. Let's not forget Salazzle as a check as well. While most walls would be hard pressed to take a hit from Durant after a z-boost, they can still do so and do so well enough to cripple Durant. Notable mentions goes to bulky waters like Quagsire, Pyukumuku even Qwilfish or the ubiqutious Chesnaught who all eat from full and can proceed to either Haze away the boost or Roar away, so we need to ensure these are sufficiently weakened which brings home the point of hazard neccesity. With the exclusion of Superpower, certain Steels and Fires can give us a hard time as well. Registeel can eat and cripple with T-Wave and Torkoal/Rotom-H can plain roast us so we'll need to weaken those as well.

As mentioned, Durant is known for its late game sweepin capabilities! Once the opposition has been sufficiently weakened via rocks and general attackin this ant can go to town on the enemy with very little to stop it. Or depending on our team, Durant can easily be the one to punch holes for the rest of the team. Durant has poor special defense though so don't expect it to stand up in the face of STAB special hits. Though Durants resistances and decent physical defense still do help it to find many set up opportunities and +2 Hustle boosted attacks DO hurt. Don't believe me? Take a look. These are calcs on the tiers premier physical walls after the Z-Hone Claws.

+2 252 Atk Hustle Durant Iron Head vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Gligar: 160-190 (48 - 57%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

+2 252 Atk Hustle Durant X-Scissor vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Milotic: 289-342 (73.3 - 86.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

+2 252 Atk Hustle Durant Iron Head vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Chesnaught: 217-256 (57.1 - 67.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

It just needs the proper team support and we're ready to flow. So Spikes/Rocks to help achieve 2HKOs and we'll need other mons to pressure Durant checks and counters such as special attackers. Chesnaught or Froslass can set up spikes as well Froslass can do so very quickly, but her frailty lends us to have to act quickly on them, but Chesnaught has more staying power. In the end, not a lot can stand to take more then 2 boosted hits from this little ant!

RU Viability Rankings

Alrighty now, we've lost a specially based attacker AND a rocker. Was also fit to take a hit or two! She may have been super convenient but now we must come up with somethin else as a second partner and we have!

Reuni is very well itself! It simply sets on the more passive steels in the tier. Reinu is also very bulky, able to set up easily because of that. However, her speed and shaky coverage may lead to some unfavorable situations such as being forced out by a hard hitting Dark or Bug type attack, as well as being Trick and Encore fodder. So don't be too hasty in setting up. Though Durant does lure in Doublade, one of this Reunis sure fire counters, so that's neat! Yeah, this Reuni should be nice as well for knockin down defensive teams after Durant has shaken them down or may be able to knock em down all by herself, actually! Be sure to check out the RU Viability Rankings! It's kind of got a new look.

Third Mon Nominations shall end on
June 15'th 12:00 PM UTC -6

Get on it then. Suggest that third member! Do we need rocks now? Or perhaps another mon to help sponge hits? Do decide!

So, I’m hosting the next tournament! The tournament will take certain aspects from Battle Factory and Challenge Cup, but instead of getting to swap out Pokémon with your opponent’s, you’ll lose the ability to use your Pokémon as you progress through the tournament. At the start of tournament, you’ll select a number listed below from this selection. Based off the number you've chosen you’ll get a pc box of 30 randomly generated Pokémon that you’ll create team with and use throughout the tournament.

Basic Formula: Winning Rounds
Based on 8 Entries
Round 1: 30
Round 2 ‘Semifinals’: 24
Round 3 ‘Bronze Match & Finals’: 18

Rules
1.) All battles must use the randomly generated pc box of 30 Pokémon.
2.) Battles will be BO3 ‘Best of 3’
a. Due to the tournament being BO3, you’ll be able to use multiple team. If you’re using more than one team throughout the round, and you win the round you must select the last team you won the final match with and will no longer be able use those Pokémon for the rest of tournament.
b. For example, in the case you win the round whether it’s Battle 2 or Battle 3 the Pokémon from that match cannot be used for the rest of the tournament.
3.) Battles will be conducted on Pokémon Showdown using the alt you’ve used given in the sign-up form.
4.) Throughout the tournament you must save replays and post them in the battle form, so that I can verify you’re using the Pokémon you were given.
