Not only has Reuniclus been moved up from RU, but there's some new powerhouses sittin pretty in the tier as well. Time will tell how effective they'll be, but they're there! So we'll have to keep them in mind as much as possible in the our replacement mon. Or not, it's up to you!

It's good to keep in mind what Reuniclus gave us. Reun was a bulky set up attacker whos claim to fame was its ability to sponge hits and status and set up in turn. Being able to break through fatter teams with impunity. While this was very nice, it may be hard to find a replacement able to do this the way Reuni did, so we may have to improvise with another similar bulky attacker if that's how you wanna look at it. Or we can give us somethin else that helps to check the newest mons, or old threats, that our team may struggle against.

    SM RU Viability Rankings/

    SM RU Role Compendium

Here's all the new mons allowed in the RU tier we'll probably see some more then others; like Nidoqueen, Zygarde, and Tornadus, but we'll have to keep wary of all of them like usual!

Banette-Mega moved from UU to RU
Tornadus moved from UU to RU
Abomasnow-Mega moved from UU to RU
Decidueye moved from UU to RU
Absol-Mega moved from UU to RU
Camerupt-Mega moved from UU to RU
Nidoqueen moved from UU to RU
Zygarde-10% moved from UU to RU
Tsareena moved from UU to RU

well would you lookie at that; Nidoqueen is back.
also, Mantine, Froslass, and dont forget; Heracross are gone from the tier!

Mega Obama has recently dropped from the white hou- uhh I mean, UU into RU and is looking kinda nice imo. It replaces Reuniclus as a sweeper with priority Ice Shard getting rid of several threats such as Aerodactyl, Tornadus, Flygon, and Zydog. Swords Dance and its dual STABs give it the ability to wallbreak mons such as Gligar, Cresselia, Milotic, and Quagsire. Aditionally, Z-Dark Durant can help weaken some of the steel types that Obama has trouble with such as Bronzong, Doublade, and Registeel. Araquanid and Flygon help Obama deal with fire types such as Mega Camel and Salazzle. The speed EVs make it so that Obama outspeeds uninvested base 50 mons, but the spread can be changed if anyone has something better. If this does end up getting chosen, which it probably will, we should switch out Roserade for something else especially since the team isn't that fast.

Comfey's known for dismantling stalls once steels have been cleared away. A feat that can easily be achieved once said steels have been cleared by our wallbreaker Durant or weakened severely by our Diancie or Araquanid. Once that's done, it's set up attempts become much more efficient. Shutting down recovery and status via Taunt, CM'ing up, and using a combo of Synthesis and Draining Kiss to slowly overpower the opponent is the name of the game! The EV's outspeed Modest max spe Nidoqueen. Comfey is quite weak before any of this though, so do ensure when you set up, it's TIME to set up. Spikes are helpful to bring steels in range as well as other mons in range of a Comfeys Draining Kiss. It's also another nice and quick check against offense to dark types like Zoroark, Sharpedo, and Honchkrow with a priority Draining Kiss should they already have a bit of prior damage on them. We also have to be wary of fire types as well; Salazzle loves coming in and eating this dude for breakfast, even its other poison friend Dragalge takes very little from boosted Kisses, and mons like Rotom-H and Moltres have no trouble crippling or even stalling Comfeys Synthesis out, so be wary when you're up against these!

    - Destiny Bond
    - Shadow Claw
    - Knock Off
    - Will-O-Wisp/Toxic

Mega Banette is a really strong Mega down in the RU tier. The EVs in speed allow it to outspeed uninvested base 85 Pokemon like Cresselia and Gligar and cripple them severely with Knock Off. Frisk > Cursed Body is for identifying what Pokemon your opponent has Z-moves on letting you play more safely around them. Destiny Bond works amazingly with M-Bane because it has Prankster and you can use it when you know it's not going to survive another hit or to take out a speedy sweeper like Zoroark. Shadow Claw is standard STAB and Knock off is great in this tier as it has some common Eviolite users such as Gligar, Doublade, and Porygon2, and a lot of Leftovers users like Cresselia, Registeel, Gigalith, and Milotic. You can either go with Will-O or Toxic for the last slot. Will-O-Wisp is useful for crippling physical attackers in the tier like Feraligatr, Donphan, Aerodactyl, Flygon, Golisopod, and Chesnaught. Or you can go with Toxic to cripple bulky Pokemon/Special attackers like Camerupt-M, Moltres, Rotom-H, Blastoise, and Diancie. I think we could totally use Banette-M we have a problem with Cresselia and Doublade with this team and other bulky mons like Porygon2 and Snorlax.

    Finished the Chall!

It's really problematic on the right Pokemon. Dugtrio was always a good Pokemon to have it, but the Z-move and gen boosts have really solidified its presence on the tipping point of OU and being banned. This finally brought home just how unfeasible a pretty much all-out trapping ability could be. I feel as if Duggys access to this ability really stifles the metas development and teambuilding as well. Dugtrio performs very well on stall, i've re-iterated on this a dozen times, but that doesn't mean it doesn't work well on other playstyles to. I've seen scarf to trap other scarfers and fast electrics, sash to live a hit and kill something or Pursuit to ensure that ghosts can't get away either, and it's all as simple as bringing Duggy in on the right turn, or an activated Eject Button, and being done with an opposers Pokemon.

I've never really been a big fan of trapping pretty much any mon from the get-go, if it has obvious drawbacks like the limited Magnet Pull, yeah, it's fine, but Arena Trap is a lot better for worse effect onto the meta. In essence, auto trappin's just a borked ability, especially so on the right mon.

Also, i'll write up the next votin post later today, watch out for it!

And that's 3 mons to pick from! All very well explained, i'd say. SD Abomasnow is a set-up attacker meant to plow through fatter teams with its excellent coverage, raw power, and can even pick things off faster offensive mons with its priority, even in the late game. Easily a mon that can immediately punch holes for our other attackers. Comfey can set up and win in the late game with the CM+Triage Synthesis as well when its appropriate counters and checks have been removed and can be a pretty neat win-con against stall as well. Lastly, Banette proves itself to be a very tricky mon to go up against for a foe as its sky-high attack stat means that it very easily can leave a dent in anything that doesnt resist it, and very normally a useful tool against the tiers bulker item reliant mons like Cress, Snorlax, and Porygon. Will-O wisp to cripple phys atk mons, and Toxic to really cripple bulkier mons. Lets not forget its ability to dispatch anything looking to KO it with prio Destiny Bond, making it at least a shaky emergency check against a sweep. You did a good job explainin things though, dudes, so why am I, even???

Ok all, here it is! One can replace; so vote well!

There we have it! The replaced mon! Banette's a recent drop, but who's to say it cant be somethin to be reckoned with in the meta? It's attack stat and ability to threaten sweepers with a prio D-Bond make it quite tricky to deal with wherever it is anyways! Knock Off rids mons of items so passive recovery and evios stop their benefits and make it easier for our sweepers to clean. It isn't very fast though and can be a lil l Now that we've got this goin, i'd say its about time for the challenge on this tier!
