Very First Fic

Well, I just wrote my first fanfic, its called, The Tales of Battle: Johto Adventure. And i'm getting alittle nervous because I have only got one review so far.

So, normally how long does it take for like five people to review the fic? Because I posted my fic yesterday, and still no one has replied other than one person.

So, is that bad? Or is it normal?

Perfectly normal, Pokeficfanatic.

Reviews are wonderful things, 'cept the chance of recieving five reviews on your first fic within a day are prrrreeetty slim.

Think about it from readers' POV. They're reading many fics, and reviewing to many as well, and every time they sign on and visit the fanfic forum, theres a high chance a new fic is up. Why will they want to review that particualr fic? If they're bored perhaps, or kindly searching to review the fics of newbies to give out advice.

You really can't tell basically D=. Many people post their fic and dont get reviewed until they bump it three times with new chapters, and get short reviews out of pure sympathy.

However, there are things you can do to get reviews if you want them that badly.

Various stickies occupy the top of the AC, one of them is the 'Reviewers Thread'. You can take a gander, pick a reviewer, PM him/her and expect a review within a few days. That the best way to go, IMO.

You can play it tactfully, and bump your thread with a reply to a review once it sinks to the second page, or a new chapter (no double posting though - thats cheating D=), which puts it straight back to the first page, therefore catching the eye of potential reviewers.

You could PM as much reviewers in the reviewers thread as possible, and the amount of reviews you recieve will surely attract willfull reviewers.

Sometimes, if you're a talented little guy, your sheer skill will attract the reviewers (I can name a few examples), or maybe if you're an avid reviewer yourself, many people will review your fic as a repayment to your reviews.

It all depends on loads of things, and if you want the reviews, you need to think on how to get them. Most reviews come without tinkering once you've posted a few chapters, because people begin to see your dedicated enough and consequently worthy of their reviews =D.

So yeah, if you understood all of that, thats what I suggest/think/believe.

EDIT: You're doing the right thing with that banner, simple and attractive. People like pretty banners, and are tempted to click the pretty ones ;D.

Wow, everything makes sense now. ^^
And thanks for the complement about the banner, I just wanted something simple that described my story.
