Small question:
Am buying a DS shortly and Emerald and either Fire Red/Leaf Green are top on my GBA purchase list:
Which do you think is better in your personal opinions?

Further enquiry: Are Emerald and Fire Red/Leaf Green compatible via. the GBA wireless adapter? Are Ruby/Sapphire compatible with Fire Red/Leaf Green and Emerald via. the GBA wireless adapter?

I've heard there is no port for the DS to use the GBA wireless adapter but that is not a problem, I can use my godbro's GBA (he has 2) to trade. Can anyone here confirm this (that the DS can't use the wireless adapter)?

Thanks

Depends on what you want to do. I think that FR/LG is better for training- higher levels of both trainer Pokemon and wilds- and Emerald for breeding because of the IV guy in the Battle Frontier and because of the long straight stretch of Mauville, Verdanturf, and their routes.

FR/LG and Emerald are compatible with the Wireless Adapter but R/S are not. They all can be used with the game-link cable designed for the advance.

you have heard correctly. The DS has no port such as the GBA/SP/SP enhanced had/have. That means no Wireless adapter, link cable, no work light, gba radio, gc to gba linkage..

Emerald has more to do, but FR/LG are a lot easier to train in. Once you beat the E4 the second time in FR there's nothing to do, but train. The BF takes a lot of time to beat and there's also contests in Emerald.

I would definitely get Emerald over the other versions. Like Hukuzo said, after beating the Elite Four in Fire Red and Leaf Green there really is nothing to do but train. And even at that there is really nothing to train for. Emerald is much better for play time/value. As for your other questions, you have heard the right information.

Get Emerald and hope that they do a 3rd game for the LG/FR series and get that when it comes out.

How are you ment to trade/link up with the DS? I have my friend's one at the moment but after looking at it very carefully for a long time, I still can't work it out.

Who else wishes that you could use a link cable with it?

I would have to say that it depens on what you look for in a Pokemon game.

If you have been a long pokemon fan and are looking for a nostagic game with improved graphics, go for Fire Red/Leaf Green. It extands on the Red/Blue Story and is great if you like training you pokemon as there are high level wild pokemon and you do not have to wait to rebattle trainers with the VS SEEKER.

If you are looking for a game that tests every aspect of your skill as a pokemon trainer, and has a lot of play time, get Emerald. With the added extra of the Battle Frontier, there are seven different ways to test your ability on these games, and the contests is another way of using your pokemon.

Here is what I think. If you may be able to get another game soon after christmas, the get fire red or leaf green cos they are becoming hard to come by, whereas emerald has just been released in the UK, and has not been out that long so they are east to get, so you could get one after christmas.
But if this is not possible, I would definatly go with Emerald if there is only one game you can get. Tell me what you think of my opinions.

Hope I helped.

All the games are easy to get hold of, using amazon.

I'd get emerald. It's keeping me occupied for longer than the previous games.

I have been trying to get Ruby for ages and never thought to look on there. But if the person wanted to buy the game from the shop they are quite hard to come by where I live. I apologise for giving incorrect information.
