Hey all! Been gone for a few months, but I'm back!
edit: Any thoughts on pokemon restrictions for this year? I don't believe their reasoning for it. Especially when they added a Masters devision. My guess, too many Ducks and Skarmblissers made it to the end and they didn't like that. They probably didn't like the saturation of weather teams, either. And the lvl 50 cap? Probably because the "cap" last year gave the 2 groups too much of an advantage. Just my 2 cents on the matter.
edit 2: Since IVs don't take effect until you reach lvl 100, would there be any point to IV breed, or can that be ignored? Or does that extra boost remain if you are at 100 before getting capped? Probably a dumb question, but since I have been out of the game for a while, I can't for the life of me remember.
I'm positive they didn't alter any of their rulings because of any specific groups of players. TPCi was probably tired of seeing the same exact strategies over and over. If they allowed for all the Pokemon, the game would feature basically the same stuff as 2009. I think it's fair for them to want a break from that. The auto-level 50 cap is the same as last year and that doesn't give anyone an advantage at all.
IVs take effect at all levels. It's just not exactly 1 stat point for each IV at level 50. Some are skipped over. Like a Pokemon with 30 IV in speed could have the same speed as one with 29.
I mean, how can I get a Snivy from DW? And if I can't, then why it has a special abillity there?
