video trouble

I can't play any video files from My Videos folder in Windows Media Player or Realplayer. It says "%1 is not a valid Win32 application." But all other video and music files not in My Videos folder work. I scanned for viruses too and nothing.

Also Windows Movie Maker isn't working either. It says "The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\WMASF.DLL is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette."

Please help me.

It sounds like you're opening video files with an incompatible program. But since they work elsewhere, have you tried moving them out of the My Videos folder?

As for Windows Movie Maker, the DLL might be corrupted. Try downloading a new copy of wmasf.dll here and moving the current dll to your desktop or something, placing the new one into c:\windows\system32 and restarting your comp.

Try that for now, and we'll see if you still get errors.
