Virtual Console/WiiWare Discussion

Clamps

Warning: Jokes!
I felt that when I tried to play Melee a month after Brawl came out. As for the original, my cartridge is long gone, so I might as well buy it again...

From Dec. 24 to Jan. 6, Sega is knocking off 40% on its Genesis/Mega Drive VC releases. That includes:

Sonic The Hedgehog
Sonic The Hedgehog 2
Sonic The Hedgehog 3
Gunstar Heroes
Toe Jam & Earl
Puyo Puyo 2
Shining Force
Golden Axe
Altered Beast
Streets Of Rage 2

That means 800 point titles are 500 points.

Subtract Altered Beast and add in Streets of Rage 1 and 3, and that'd be the list of genesis games I own. =P

I got some money for Christmas so I shall spend $10 on Wii Points. Since Sonic the Hedgehog 1-3 are now 500 points each I will most likely get Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and 2.
I wonder if there will be sales on other types of games in the future.

Just bought Megaman 9 with some of the points I got for Christmas, and I gotta say, that game is awesome :)

Frickin hard, but very fun. I didn't even beat it... My friend did when he was staying at my place. xD He did it in like 3 hours, I was like O_O.

Has anyone got My Life as a Darklord? I'm thinking about buying it after getting the demo, but I think I want another opinion. xD

The article sucks for having no timestamp, but the comment was posted at the beginning of November.

Also, SPPf.
Makes you wonder how long he may have gone for. Then again, a quick browse through the right websites would have told you what you'd need to know. of course, that would require actual work..

Yea. I can easily run though the game, now that I've played it so much. I can do each level in about 5 minutes with only a death or two, save for Tornado Man's stage. But I never, ever could beat that final boss... *shudders*

Oh. See, this is what happens when you leave SppF. THINGS. THINGS HAPPEN.

Bah. Mega Man 9, after enough practice, is not a difficult game. My first playthrough I beat in less than 60 minutes and with no E-Tanks used (Netting me 2 Achievements in the XBLA version). Trying to go through it with the restrictions from the other two Achievements, however (Beat the game defeating the fewest enemies possible and beat the game using the least amount of weapon energy possible) is a horrid experience.

The final boss is a challenge, yes, but there is a certain level of strategy to some of the forms. For example, in the first part, stay as far left as possible and shoot the balls it shoots at you at the apex of the bounce, or even on the decline. It makes the ball's trajectory easier to aim at the boss's weak point. For the second part it's mainly timing, and a bit of hoping he doesn't stomp too close to you. If he stomps far away it's a simple jump, but if close to you wait until the absolute last moment, hugging the left wall as tight as possible to give a little wiggle room on the fire. For the final part it's mainly where he reappears. You should always hope he reappears and uses the attack with the 4 blue orbs when near the right or left side, and not in the middle, because that gets rid of 2 orbs off the bat. If you need help timing the jumps here, practice on previous Mega Man titles, or for help with the Pulse Bomb attacks practice with Tornado Man.

I still can't frickin beat that MegaMan game... I think that it's just of my inability to play retro games paired with my short temper. xD

Thriller

Its almost time
Ok everyone, purchase Pilotwings, and tell all your friends to do the same thing. That game must get excellent sales if there's a chance for the highly superior and super awesome Pilotwings 64 to get a release.

Do it, now, posthaste, don't make me get my whip on you
