Well, I'm glad that they made a game for the kids on the Xbox 360, but Microsoft, Rare (post-Nintendo), and 4kids working toghether is a match made in hell, and the TV show sucks.

But, is this game good or not? It looks kinda interesting...what is the purpose of it?

The game does feature some elements that are similar, but really it has more to do with the general franchise than the game. Essentially they want to create a successful game, TV show, toys etc that the Pokemon franchise had. Pokemon was a worldwide phenomenon, and Microsoft want a similar exclusive franchise for themselves.

Despite underwhelming previews the reviews have been fantastic and it sound like a great game

Umm...it's one of those neverending games like Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing. People aren't going to "beat" it quickly.

Kameo was a decent game that got decent reviews, and Viva Pinata has been doing even better thus far.

The Legend of Zelda animated series was the epitome of horrible. You can't say the games did as atrociously, though, can you? Heck, many people even say that when comparing the Pokemon anime and games. (Though I like both, personally)

I'm just saying I don't think it will reach a level of success Pokemon did, in any category.
