If as usual D/P came out in Japan before Europe or America. Will we get shrouded with the new pokemon names, looks and new attacks and details?

Now we probably will yeah? So what will you do... Will you study them and know what pokemon to start with etc etc etc. Or will you wait and find out for yourself, and be (in my opinion) a true pokemon player?

Now I will wait, and start with my friend who also will play it. We will have competetive battles and maybe even races (I don't like as I may rush to much through the game). Training to beat your friend is really cool lol.

So what would you do? Wait or Read?

I'll probably figure out which pokemon on my own. Thats what I've always done before; and it was more fun to see say Absol and discover it then to just read up on what it was

I'll wait and find out. I haven't really got into the whole ''competitive, EV, IV'' thing since about 2 months ago, so before that I just used whatever I liked using the most.
Although I do tend to go for the fire starters, as I have preferred them the most. The water starters are a close second, but I have barely ever used the grass starters, because they've been boring types. If there was a grass starter that had an unusual type or evolution, then I would probably use that.

Nomytaker

The Deadman
Work them out as I play.

I'll have a look at the when they're released, but not in depth... I'd prefer to have more fun with them as they're encountered in the games.

agreed

and for starter i mostly pick out water a lot of the times fire (in my opinion the fires theyve hd look kewl) and maybe grass but i might start over if it(the one i chose) suckks

I try to check them out and learn the names, but not the whole of their stats. I like to test out a game and a starter to see what they are like.

I'm one of those jerks who totally gets off on spoilers. I love em. I would love to play another Pokemon game and discover the weird and rare monsters without any previous knowledge of them (Magmar and Tauros in RBY :D), but I know me. I'll be the first online, and in my circle, to know everything from types, names (Japanese and English), moves, and relative stats >.>

Devilrose

Super Coordinator
My first time through the game, I'll usually just go with what I want. If I see a cool looking pokemon that I think would be fairly good, I'll catch it. After playing through once, though, I tend to have my entire team planned for any future attempts and tend to aim for a different team each time. Like if I used Raichu for an electric type one time through, I might try Manetric the next. Of course, that was before I came to Serebii so...who knows? I might end up having my entire team decided first run through...

It would be more fun for sure to go through the game the first time with no idea about any of the new pokemon.

But I'm never gonna be able to keep myself from looking. I never worry too much about stats and movesets and just go with the ones I like, but I probably won't be able to keep myself from looking at them.

I'll play through the game going on preference so I can really experience it, but my urge to know about the pokemon and stuff will make me extremely informed.

Although, I'm kind of hoping that the time between Japan and America is shorter than usual. I think that Nintendo's new business plan realizes America as an important part of it's business. So NoA has become a larger branch of nintendo by doing a lot of game production here and all of that. So I think that translation time willl be shorter as Nintendo will want to get a game out much sooner. A good example is Pokemon XD, which came out in America about 2 or 3 months after it came out in Japan.

I will probably look at some pics but not many, but like i always do i will learn atleast the basic knowledge of the starters...

Also usually Pokemon.com gives out small pieces of info each week before release(in english atleast) so i get this info it gets me excited and then it finally gets released after the final week and i get it.(im referiing to english release not japanese)

I'd like to "discover" this game on my own, so to speak. It just won't be worth my time and money if I simply chalk up all the info on the game from Serebii's site or other sites. However, I would definitely take a look at the base stats of Manyula as soon as I could once they are revealed. ;]

Jade

Myuu...
I will be leeching every bit of info from Serebii site about D/P the moment its out.

XD

Well, I'm going to be doing the opposite of Double-Yoo Gee. I'm going to actually be SURPRISED this time, as I was with G/S/C, and not know everything about the game before I get the translated version. That's what ruined a LOT of the fun in R/S for me. I knew too much. That's also what made Emerald more fun for me. I didn't know too much about it, so it was fun and surprising.

But, I'll still be able to handle the crap in this section. :)
