War: The Attack of the Demons [PG-13] {No LSUs}

Deathspector

<-- Blastoise O.o
The carrion-birds cupped their wings, riding on the thermals emanating form the desolate land below. They swooped and ducked in the cured blood-red skies of the world. Even the very air had turned musty, and difficult to breathe in. As the wretched birds continued to fly in circles above the entrance to the outer world from the underground society of Goldenrod, below, the screams and pleas of a human being could be heard. The birds began to flap excitedly, they could smell warm blood. That was becoming a rarity nowadays, as less and less humans ventured out into the outer world without being protected. They dived down towards the ground, to see what was happening.

As they did so, they caught sight of the never-ending plains of the outer world, devoid of any plant form. It seemed that the Demons had even managed to flatten the mountains, and ruin the lovely valleys that had once stood, protected by two mountains; a home for the homeless. The carrion-birds, however, did not take notice of the moor-like landscape. They saw it on a daily basis. No, what they saw was even worse.

Down below, were two hulked forms, devouring another. One of the forms raised its head, and howled at the red sky, savouring the taste of fresh blood. His face was shaped like a canine, blood dripping from its mouth. Its entire body was covered in fur, and resembled nothing more than a wolf on legs. His partner, however, was different. Demons had a habit of inbreeding amongst their own people, and this Demon had the head of a serpent, claws and fur of a cheetah, and legs of a human. Between the two of them, lay a human, still screaming and alive, while having his insides eaten in front of him.

The carrion-birds squealed in delight, and swooped down upon the Demons, trying to lure them away from the human. After several failed attempts, the wolf-Demon got angry, and lashed out with his claws. The carrion-bird, at the last moment, flew upwards, and the wolf-Demon’s attack hit the back of his friend. The serpent-cheetah-Demon snarled, and pounced upon the wolf-Demon, striking with its head. The carrion-birds, meanwhile, dined on the human’s innards.

Almost nine miles below, a Slayer fought.

This particular person was actually in a simulated fight against a herd of Demons. In his hands, he clutched two pistols. He was fighting against simulated bear-Demons. One of the Demons got too close, and he loosed three quick shots from his pistol. It did not kill the Demon, but the Demon backed away. Suddenly, the Slayer noticed a shadow from behind him. Spinning expertly, he drew his second pistol, and fired five shots, from each one at the Demon behind him.

The bullets whizzed through the air, and buried themselves inside the bear-Demon’s fur, spilling the horrid blood, and filling the Slayer’s nose with a despicable stench. One of the Demons ran, and dived at the Slayer, who quickly leapt into the air, and blasted the Demon with four shots, right on the spinal chord. He landed, like a cat, on his legs, only to be grabbed from behind by two large and hairy hands.

He jerked his head backwards, slamming it into the Demon’s face. The Demon let go of the Slayer for a split second, and that was the big mistake he made. The Slayer spun around in a complete roundhouse kick, smashing his foot into the Demon’s throat, and throwing the massive figure down on the ground. Without warning, three of the Demons jumped at him.

He quickly dealt with one of them with a couple of bullet from his pistol, an jumped out of the way of the next, only to get knocked to the floor by the third, completely squashed by the sheer mass of the Demon. Instinctively, his hand reached for his belt, and he chucked one of his poké-balls into the air. The ball snapped open, flooding the Slayer’s vision in a pallid light, only to leave behind his trusty Vileplume. The flower-Pokémon saw her master submerged by the Demon, and attacked.

Slayer’s Pokémon were trained to use moves by themselves if their master’s were unable to call an attack.

A white ball formed at the centre of the Vileplume’s flower, only to blast the bear-Demon off her master’s back with a powerful Solar Beam. The Slayer grinned, and spun his pistols around in his hand.

“Let’s have some fun, aye?”

OOC: That was really some amazing scene play there. *whistles* I'm gonna have to work hard to even get close to that. :)

Day 14, Runaway Journal,
Enter the tree. Big, tall, oak. Not too shabby, compared to what I'm used to. Only tree for miles on end that's not a palm, the only one with suitable living conditions for anyone. Jerri's p*ssed off about it. She says that the tree is too big, of course in her own language. Naturally, she's afraid she'll set fire to this tree too, especially since they have police on our tails now. I'm at the very top of this tree, the branches are very slim, death-defying. No one will care if I die anyways. Especially since they wouldn't see me fall. The city's only three miles away, I can see the sky-scrapers scraping the sky. Bad metaphor, yes I know. I'd better go, looks like Spirit hunted down some food. That Mightyena is dang good at that.

Until next time,
Mylie

I signed my name with a flourish on the Y, just like always. I closed my journal, the fuzz on the blue cover was fading off from the journey. Fourteen days... I was almost there, almost to Vermillion. It really shouldn't have taken that long if I'd simply gone through Saffron City and walked a bit. But I'd taken the scenic route around so that I wouldn't be found by the police. I knew my grandparents would call them after Day Seven, they would find out that I hadn't been camping in Mt. Moon for a week. Stupid grandparents, who needs them anyways. Aunt Mel was always cooler then them anyways. They'd given me my first Pokemon. Speaking of which...

A huge black wolf-like Pokemon came jogging out of the bushes, a package of hot dogs clenched in her teeth. A smaller, but not a lot smaller, Pokemon who resembled a porcupine with fire for quils jogged after her, a salad package clasped nervously in her arms. They were finally trailed by a purple feline Pokemon who flung a Confusion attack at a Rattta who'd been following them, then jogged gracefully into line with the other two.

"What'd you get today?" I asked, jumping out of the tree. I landed in front of Jerri, my Quilava, who quivvered nervously.

"Quil," she said, holding out the bag of salad to me. I picked it up, turning the ripped plastic bag in my hand. The experation date was next week.

"Nice," I approved, placing it on the ground between us.

"Yena," Spirit growled, placing down the hot dog package. I turned that in my hands, observing the defrosting hot dogs through holes she'd made with her fangs.

"Also good. You get anything Lilly?" I asked the Espeon. She shook her head. "Did the defending this time did you girl?" I asked her, patting her between her huge feline ears. She nodded proudly, twirling her forked tail. "You look pretty, don't worry about it," I laughed, "Now let's make some breakfast,"

OoC: Wow, both of you...had great stuff. Let's see what I can do. *pops fingers*

BiC:

'He's going to come out...I know he is....but from where...where is he going to strike from??' a young junior Slayer thought to herself. She brushed her long black hair from her eyes, concentrating all around her. The young woman stood in the middle of a dense forest, the weeping willow trees blowing in the slightest wind all around. Nothing was moving and all was quiet. But the Slayer knew better. One would appear...somewhere around her, just trying to sneak up quietly and precisely.

They would want to eat her alive...

'There!' She whipped around, throwing kunai behind her sharply. The Slayer heard the monster groan and she realized she had hit it. Turning around, it was a simple leopard demon and her kunai knife had hit the mark on the top of its head cleanly. The Slayer had such presicion that the wound didn't bleed on the outside, but on the inside of the monsterous being.

"Great as ever, Kaili." a man's voice spoke up as the demon and the terrain around her began to disappear slowly yet surely. A door opened up on the other side of the room as it returned to its normal state of a empty room with simulated panels all around to create any terrain that was possible. The man stepped out walking over to the girl, now known as Kaili.

He wasn't a very tall man, only a little taller then the girl. His light blonde hair was ruffled on his head and his eyes had bags under them, almost as if he was really tired. His blue shirt and blue jeans were tight and formal, however, almost like a business man. The man smiled at the girl before she came running up to him after retrieving her kunai from the floor.

"I don't know about that, Ryu. I should've heard it way before I did..." Kaili said, lecturing herself. "It was about three feet off the ground and into the tree...that means I should've heard it about two or three seconds before I did." She sighed, replacing the kunai in her holder on her right leg.

Ryu simply smiled. "You need to stop putting yourself down, Kaili. You're the best young slayer here and we need you to always be there. You know that." He said, ruffling the hair of the young woman. "I see the ninja weapons are helping you on your aim."

"Yeah...the bow and arrows were never as good to hit their mark..." Kaili replied, walking past Ryu and over to the door. "Thanks again for the training, Father."

Ryu jerked abruptly at the word 'Father' but let it slide. Kaili had started calling him that recently and he didn't understand why. He watched the young girl that him and his wife had taken in almost eight years before. Her figure was small, perfect for a Slayer and she was always wearing dark clothing, making everyone think she was anti-social. Kaili wasn't like that all the time though.

Kaili made her way up the stairs on the other side of the door and up to the living room of her home. Technically, this was the Fortree City Training Facility, but it was run by her parents, so to speak, so she lived here. Sitting down on the couch, suddenly a white figure came running out of the hallway, it's black paws barely touching the ground as it ran. It jumped right where Kaili was sitting, only to land on the couch. Kaili only grinned.

"You'll have to move faster than that, Makito, if you're going to catch me." She replied to her pokemon.

"Ab...sol." It said back, growling. Kaili simply petted the young Absol on the head.

"You'll get me one day." Kaili smiled, sitting down next to her long time companion.

Hiro's Mission

OOC: Cool, hopefully I can write things as good as you people can.

"Flames spot anything yet." I asked my large Charizard. The lizard's orange skin seemed to glow in the sunrise which was peeking its body out from under the mountain tops of the Seafoam Islands.

"No, not yet. I know its here... just hiding." the lizard said while its black pupils shifted from right to left. We have been on the Islands for about 2 days now searching for a demon that has been said to kidnap people. But we have found... nothing. I will be sorry to report this. I looked down at my watch and spoke into it:

Mission Log
July 4

I, Hiro Akio, Senior Slayer have not found the demon said to inhabit these islands. Not even with my full team, we have been here for two days now an excellent time for finding the demon. But sadly we have found...nothing.

-Senior Slayer, Hiro

"Pidgeot!" A large bird appeared on the dirt road that leads into the ice caves. It long, red, and blonde hair fluttered in the draft that has been following them since Cinnabar.

"Hiro, Flames! I saw the demon on the other side of the mountain. It's a whale shark demon! It's been here for quiet awhile. It has about some hundred bodies there." I nodded and withdrew Flames into his Pokeball.

"Come on Gee!" I said as I hopped onto her back. We flew above the islands until we reached a shape dining on a body. It turned its head to reveal its Whale Shark head. It had dripping, crimson blood dripping from its mouth. His teeth were also covered in this blood. It dripped from its mouth onto the floor. It shifted to the left gesturing to the hundreds of bodies it has on the floor. Each one with a gaping whole revealing their organs, some completely hollow. The shark demon is picking his teeth with a bone now.

"Phanto, go!" I said as I threw a pokeball. It separated revealing smoke. A large purple and gray body appeared from the smoke. Its stubby arms and legs moving about as it twirled its large tongue.

"Gee, Phanto let's go!" I pointed at the demon. Suddenly from the mountains of bodies another demon appeared. This one had a wolf's head; they climbed the mountain darting towards us as we flew down in a ninety degree angle. The demons dodged our every attack; they were to quick for us. I now had severe injuries as did my pokemon.

“Return Phanto! Go Flames! Return Gee!” I swapped pokemon before attacking.

“Use Blast Burn!” The fire attack raged on towards the demons who simply just dodged it. These were going to be tough opponents for me.

“Let’s go on land!” I commanded we landed on the floor where the demons awaited,

“Go Machy! Gyara! Spark!” I released the rest of my team, Machamp, Gyarados, and Raichu. We were in a fight for our life…

OOC: Nice, ok here goes. "Types"

BIC: A familiar steel figure was soaring across the blood red skies. It's wings had a light red color along with a few recent scars. It's keen, yet wild, yellow eyes were locked towards a secretive, yet well known area that was recently created. This was a Skarmory, but not just any ordinary Skarmory. It was a slayer's Skarmory, which was properly trained, feed, and was in healthy conditions. His wounds stung fiercely, but he ignored the pain, as Darin's Hyper Potions would fix that problem. He dived gracefully towards a few rotting Evergreen tree's.

Darin Himoto was waiting impatiently outside his hideout, tapping his black leather boots on the rubbled ground. He wasn't really mad, but wasn't exactly happy either as Skarmory attempted to show off and perform a few aerial acrobatics before landing.

"Your late. Do you want dinner? Because I will NOT feed you if you are late!" Darin snapped angrily, ceasing the tapping of his foot at the same time. Skarmory gave him a bewildered look. He wasn't late. Instead, he was quite early.

Darin chuckled. "Nah, just clowning with you. Did you find anything? Food? Money?" Darin paused for a few seconds. "Demons?" Skarmory nodded towards the third statement. Darin sighed deeply.

Demons were never a good thing, especially ones that were nearby. Demons aren't pokemon. You can just make it faint and be on your way. You have to kill it and make sure it's actually killed. Demon's skin were as hard as the steel coated on Skarmory's back, their claws were as razor sharp as the teeth attached in a Sharpedo's mouth, and in some cases, lighting fast. Even though Darin was trained in the extermination of Demons, it's still a hassle to defeat one.

A loud thud was heard nearby by a group of tree's, following by a series of lighting fast one's and a few sniffs by a nose. Darin immediately equipped his Marduk bow and fired a steel arrow towards the noise. A loud roar responded to the Arrow's attack, as well as a few drops of blood. A gorilla-like demon revealed itself from the tree's, a steel arrow was attached to it's right arm. It was coated with jet black fur and had bloodshot-like red eyes, glaring deeply at Darin and his companion bird. Darin immediately hopped on top of a pile of granite and fired swiftly, yet accurately 5 steel arrows at the fiend. The demon deflected two of the arrows, but the other 3 striked the gorilla hard on it's hairy chest, causing it to loose it's balance and fall on it's backside.

Skarmory sprung into action and slammed the demon hard with a Steel Wing attack, right on the face. The Demon howled fiercely towards the bird's attack, but responded to the attack by clutching onto it's wing and slamming it right in front of the beast. The gorilla licked it's gruesome lips slowly, preparing to feast on it's new prey. Right when it was about to latch it's teeth onto it's neck, 7 arrows quickly struck the gorilla's face, saving Skarmory's life. Skarmory slowly got up and flew towards safety besides Darin, a bit shooken up by his demon encounter. Dark, thick blood seeped from it's fur coated arms, chest, and face. Darin then flashed a grin of satisfaction at the demon's dead form.

"Nice job Skarmory. That was easier than I thought," Darin stated, strapping his bow onto his back and stashing away his arrow quiver. He pulled out an Ultra ball and returned Skarmory back into his ball. He released Jolteon, a quite hyper pokemon than performed a back flip in the air for no apparent reason.

"Jolt! Jolt!" It replied happily. Someday, Darin wished he would be able to speak in pokemon language and understand why Jolteon is so happy.

"Alright calm down. Let's go find some dinner, eh?" Darin replied.

OOC: Not bad, any of you. XD, it looks like we'll be trading compliments for the entire RP. I don't mind though...XD.

IC:

The underground city of Saffron was truly remarkable. It was fascinating how they managed to fit an entire city underground, nine miles beneath the crust. In all reality, this underground city was basically a replica of what Saffron had been several generations previously. But it had taken dedication from every inhabitant in the country to recreate it. The very same builders were now working on recreating Celadon City. The roads, however, weren't clogged with cars, but pedestrians, as the metal inside the rock around them could not be removed without the rock collapsing. So far, any metal was extremely precious, and was being for an effective water system.

Too bad I have to kill the man who did all of this. I can't understand why some people want to kill him. A remarkable genius if there was ever. But I have to do my job. If only there was a better way to earn the money I do. Unfortunately, there isn't.

"Taillow!"

The cry startled me, as I had not expected my Taillow to return from the reconnaissance so quickly. Either the man in charge of Saffron was living in a small place. Taillow had flown extremely fast, or Tailow had nearly been captured. To be honest, I believed the latter to be true. And sure enough, I looked behind me, and saw my little Taillow flying as quickly as she could, being pursued by two dangerous-looking Skarmories. Despite the fact that I liked Skarmories, the sight of my beloved Taillow darting this way and that being chased by those metallic monsters scared me.

She swooped down, and seconds later she was on my shoulder, and I was running as fast as my legs could take me. I ran with all the strength I could muster, but the Skarmories were still in pursuit. I didn't expect my sad attempt to be of any use, but who said I was running from the Skarmories.

"Magby! Flamethrower!" I yelled, as I leaped over a barrel on the road.

From behind the barrel burst forth my Magby. His red skin shined in the dark gloom of the underground city, and he stood his ground, waiting for the right opportunity. Just when the Skarmories believed him to be a minor threat, he released his powerful Flamethrower attack. The jet of flame seared through the air, and smacked into one of the Skarmories. The other one, however.

Kaili turned off the TV abruptly, to the distaste of Makito who had been enjoying the sounds and sights of the television. "Well, Makito, that's just too bad. We have a mission today, remember?"

<Yeah, I know. You don't have to remind me.> the Absol said, his voice almost sizzling in Kaili's mind.

Ever since Kaili had been young, she had been able to understand pokemon and demons alike. She could hear their thoughts and understand their speech as if they were speaking English straight to her. Because of this ability, the people of Fortree wanted to use her as a type of tool to get the demons to leave without having to kill them.

Fortree City had always been a quiet and peaceful city, never wanting to kill the demons for any reason other than the fact that the demons attacked the city first. Kaili had talked with many of the demons that appeared around the city and they ended up leaving peacefully. She was regarded as a young hero in the city, even though she was a slayer, she preferred the quiet approach, not deadly.

“I wasn’t reminding you, Makito. If you had looked at the time, you would’ve seen it.” Kaili said, pulling on her worn tennis shoes.

The Absol turned to the clock. Only 15 minutes until their mission was to actually start. <Hahaha. Smart little girl.> Makito said, jumping off the couch and trotting over to the door. Kaili grabbed her black jacket and headed out the door with Makito on her heels. They were headed for the main building of the city.

The mission today for Kaili was to escort a young man to LilyCove City. He was about Kaili’s age, but wasn’t a slayer, so he needed the usual protection from bandits and of course, the demons.

She ran into City Hall and to the room with the Fortree City leader. “Kaili Mitsuba, reporting for work, Mr. Taka.” She said to the older man sitting behind a mahogany desk.

Mr. Taka smiled. “Well, hello, Kaili. Glad you’re here.” He turned to the door behind him. “Come on in, your escort is here.” The door opened to reveal a young man.

He was at least Kaili’s age with messy blonde hair. He wore a skintight black shirt with a blue light jacket. His jeans were worn with age and he had on slick black boots. The man’s eyes stared at Kaili, the emerald color piercing through her. Kaili simply looked at him. He…was…very handsome indeed.

She smiled at him. “Um…hi. I’m Kaili Mitsuba, your escort.” She stuck out her hand to shake his.

He made no move to shake her hand but looked at her. “You don’t look like a junior slayer, but oh well. Guess I can’t complain, since its what I paid for…” He walked around her and to the door. “My name is Kazuya. Kazuya Torisuna. You’d do well to remember that. Let’s go.” He opened and walked out the door.

Kaili turned and started to walk out behind him. Makito growled. <Five seconds with the guy and he’s already an ass.>

Jolteon was a little too hyper for Darin to handle, so he decided that it be safe to return him to his respective pokeball and let him cool down a bit. He randomly released a random pokeball and Skarmory was summoned from a burst of blood red light. He raked his metallic claws onto the soft earth under him and start flailing his steel wings annoyingly.

"What are you trying to accomplish? Eh Skarmory?" Darin asked.

"<Don't know. It's just part of my "routine" I do now and then. Just to get warmed up for fights!>" Skarmory answered, ceasing the annoying flapping. A few days ago, Darin began to understand what Skarmory had to say. Strangely, it's only Skarmory that Darin can communicate to through English and the other pokemon in his party couldn't. He doesn't know how he done it, but it's a great aid for tracking down demons and searching for food and shelter.

"You really need to stop with that. What if were hiding and you had to do that routine, thus revealing ourselves to the enemy?" Darin watched as Skarmory thought over that statement.

Out of nowhere, Darin's cellphone rang, vibrating furiously and rattling his pocket. Darin snatched the phone and flipped it open. It was his good friend and an ally in slaying, Terrence. He never heard from him for a while since Terrence informed Darin about a Demon hunting session he and a few friends where going to perform.

"Hey Terrence, what's going on?" Darin asked casually.

"Nothing much. When are you coming by the hideout? I need some food!"

"Your just the same as ever. Eating people's food and not lifting a finger to do anything productive besides demon slaying," Darin sighed. Terrence was the same as usual. He thought his Demon slaying would make him a bit bolder and less cocky.

"Fine, whatever. I'll catch you later," Terrence replied.

"Alright then. See you later then," Darin closed his phone and returned it into his pocket. Skarmory was quiet the whole time.

"Alright then, Skarmory. Did you see anything while you were flying?" Darin asked his metallic friend.

"<Well, I did see a few other Skarmories chasing after a small bird....,>"

"A Tailow?"

"<Yes! A Tailow. It seemed like it needed help,>"

"So..... did you help it?" Darin asked.

"<No! I wanted to give it a scare myself, but I was on a mission!>" He stated boldly. Darin sighed. Skarmory was as cocky and ignorant as Terrence, but just more threating.

"Wait. Tailow are very rare around this area, almost impossible to just catch a glance. Perhaps it was a trainer's Tailow, performing the same task I assigned you to do," Darin explained. "Where did you last see it?"

"<Over there,>" Skarmory pointed east with it's right wing."<But what's the point? Where better off in our own. He might slow us down!>"

"We should at least ask what there doing above ground. Unless he's a slayer, it's not safe," Darin answered, ending the conversation. Skarmory still felt uneasy about Darin's decision, but followed him as he headed east towards the woods.

I crossed my arms as Jerri looked nervously from the huge oak tree to the wood pile I'd made. "Quil?" she asked, glancing down at it with her ruby red eyes.

"It's perfectly safe," I said with a reassuring smile, ruffling her black fur. I smiled, "Use Ember on it," I knew she couldn't disobey a direct order, she'd feel guilty if she did. Trust me.

She sighed, opening her mouth into a perfect little 'o' shape. A few little embers of fire flung out onto the sticks, glowing warmly and beginning to eat it up like a hungry animal. Perfect. Spirit ripped the plastic top off of the hot dogs, placing them in the dirt in front of me. I placed them carefully into a pan, placing the pan over the crackling fire. The little Quilava continued to watch the fire nervously, standing between it and the oak tree.

"It's fine Jerri," I said, picking up the small fire Pokemon in my arms, "It won't burn down or anything," I hope, I added to myself, glancing between the tree and the fire. Lilly slunk over in a very refined way, placing herself next to me. "What is it girl?" I asked, glancing down at her.

There's a Slayer coming this way, I suggest after you cook those poor pieces of meat that we leave, she said telepathicly to me, sliding around the tree to pack my things.

I stood up, "Lilly says that there's a Slayer headed this way, so let's move. Spirit, use Sand Attack on the fire," I instructed, "Jerri, Lil, let's move, Spirit'll catch up with us," I gathered the hot dogs, fully cooked, in their plastic bag and shoved them into my blue backpack, "Let's go," The Mightyena began kicking sand onto the fire while my other two Pokemon and I headed towards the city. And the beach. And ultimatly... the demons.
